Avec quelle configuration et dans quel but utilisez-vous ce logiciel?
Utilisation sous Cubase Pro 10.5
Qu'en est-il de la stabilité et de ses performances?
Aucun problème de stabilité.
Le logiciel est-il simple à prendre en main et bien documenté ?
La liste est longue (EQ, Compresseur, réverbes, ...) donc ça fonctionne avec tout mais il faut savoir ce qu'on fait.
Est-il efficient ? Ses fonctionnalités sont-elles conformes à vos attentes?
On peut travailler plus vite et surtout ça sonne.
Quelles sont les choses que vous appréciez le plus et le moins?
je trouve le système d’abonnement au top: mise à jour des plugs existant = gratuit, nouveau plug = gratuit donc pas de prix yoyo comme chez...…

Avec quelle configuration et dans quel but utilisez-vous ce logiciel? Qu'en est-il de la stabilité et de ses performances?
J'utilise ce bundle sur Mac avec Logic Pro X. Ca marche niquel, je l'utilise aussi sous Pro Tools et Cubase, rien à signaler, c'est stable, ça plante jamais. L'autorisation se fait très rapidement.
La consommation CPU est raisonnable, pas possible de mettre à mal mon Core i7 2,6 GHz qui date de 2012 même en utilisant un gros nombre de plugins.

Le logiciel est-il simple à prendre en main et bien documenté ?
Je dirais qu'il vaut mieux savoir ce qu'on fait quand même. Si on débute en mix, on va juste tourner des potards sans trop savoir ce qu'on fait. Comme ce sont des émulations de hardware, connaître les originaux permet de savoir ou on va. Ce qui inclut d'avoir des connaissances au départ et de savoir comment fonctionne un EQ et un compresseur.

Est-il efficient ? Ses fonctionnalités sont-elles conformes à vos attentes?
Ces plugs, c'est du très haut niveau ! Le son est là, c'est solide, c'est très très efficace, on obtient rapidement ce qu'on veut. Personnellement ce bundle me fait gagner un temps fou ! Le VCC est inséré sur tous mes mix je dirais même que je commence par ça !
Tous ces plugins sont plus efficaces les uns que les autres, EQ Neve, SSL, compresseur FairChild la liste est longue et la qualité d'émulation est saisissante !

Quelles sont les choses que vous appréciez le plus et le moins?
Mention spéciale pour le VTM que j'adore mais tous les plugins valent le coup croyez moi. Ce que j'apprécie le moins, c'est le système d'abonnement (24$/mois). Même si c'est souple et qu'on peut arrêter et reprendre quand on veut. Y'a quand même des avantages. A chaque fois que Slate sort un nouveau plug, il s'ajoute à votre bundle sans supplément. Ca c'est top !!
Pour moi, c'est un outil de travail. Sinon jamais je ne l'aurai acheté.

Virtual Tape Machines

Big, fat, warm, deep, rich, and exciting are just some of the terms used to describe what recording onto a piece of magnetic tape sounds like. Most of all, tape is more musical.

To capture the sound of tape is to capture a living, breathing sound that dynamically reacts to the music going on to it. Slate Digital Chief Technology Officer Fabrice Gabriel utilized his electrical engineering degree as a foundation for his comprehensive study of the physical processes that occur when recording to analog tape through a tape machine. What began with science led to Fabrice’s discovery of the seemingly magical properties of tape and inspired him to create his most advanced, dynamic algorithms yet. Two industry-standard machines were precisely modeled. What followed was a year of critical listening and algorithm tweaking, with some help from the expert ears of Slate Digital CEO, Steven Slate.

The result is the Virtual Tape Machines plugin. With models of both a 2 inch 16 track from NRG Recording, and a ½ inch 2 track machine from Howie Weinberg Mastering, the VTM will give your mixes an absolutely authentic analog vibe that will take your mixes to the next level. Virtual Buss Compressors

All of the compressors in the VBC bundle have a variable hi-pass filter AND a mix knob that can be used to control the ratio/percentage of the compressed signal to the dry signal. Each compressor can be used in series, and the series rearranged by dragging and dropping (see information on “The Rack”). Compressing a mix with each one doing a very little amount can sound amazing! And, using the compressors in series within the ‘Rack’ also makes it very easy to A/B/C the compressors on source material. Finally, VBC will come with stock presets made by some of the industry's top mixers.

The VIRTUAL MIX RACK continues the Slate Digital tradition of providing the absolute most authentically modeled analog sound in a digital audio plugin.

The ‘VMR’ includes five world class mix modules, including two classic equalizers, two versatile mix compressors and an Analog Modelled Sonic Enhancer, with more modules to be developed.

The ‘VMR’ operates as a Virtual 500 series rack with hot-swappable modules, putting your whole processing chain in ONE WINDOW. FG-X Mastering Processor

Some mastering compressor plugins try to emulate vintage analog units and add color, harmonics, and different filters that change the way your mix sounds. In truth, most top mastering engineers use very little or no compression. When they do use compression, they use only the most transparent compressors that will not alter the tone or balance of the mix.

The FG Dynamics plugin is a true mastering quality compressor meant to control the dynamics of your mix in the most transparent way possible, not to color it with digitally modeled harmonics or distortions. The FG Dynamics compressor assumes that you have used your favorite color or tone compressor to achieve the sound on your final mix. It is the job of the FG Dynamics compressor to maintain that quality, not alter it. The advanced dynamics algorithm is so transparent, you'll wonder if its on!

The FG LEVEL maximization plugin offers the user complete control of their mix, before and after the level maximization process.

The TRANSIENT function contains two controls to fine tune mix transients. Lo Punch allows you to transparently increase the level of the low energy in a mix, increasing the punch and dynamics without altering other elements of the mix. DETAIL adds more clarity and focus to the transients, perfect for buried snares or kicks.

After the ITP powered GAIN maximizer, there is a function called Dynamic Perception. This amazing new process can make the final master sound more dynamic, open, and punchy, even though the master has much more limited dynamic range then the mix.

Trigger 2 Platinum

SLATE DIGITAL's TRIGGER 2 is the next generation drum replacement VST/RTAS/AU plugin. TRIGGER 2 has a phase accurate multi layered triggering engine. This means that in one instance of the plugin, you can seamlessly trigger multiple samples simultaneously such as a close mic sample, stereo overhead sample, and a stereo room mic samples. Or, mix many direct mic samples to develop your own custom unique sounds. This multi channel triggering functionality allows the user to recreate the sound of natural drums with real multitracked samples. Each sample layer has parameters for customization such as velocity and dynamic control, attack, sustain, release and independent levels. Other features include 2 detection modes, MIDI in/out, automation of detecting parameters, up to 127 different articulations per instrument, up to 127 velocity layers per instrument and up to 127 alternation hits per velocity layer, and a unique "Leakage Suppression" function.
