X32 Firmware
Version 2.08 (18th September 2014)
X32 Firmware Update The X32 Firmware V 2.08
Update adds performance enhancements to the award-winning X32 operating
system. This new version adds support for KLARK TEKNIK DN32 option cards, as well as head-amp
remote control for DL16, DL25x and DL15x MIDAS PRO series fi xed format I/O boxes. This update also
improves the synchronization stability for AES50 devices while the console is clocked externally via
ADAT / Wordclock / MADI. MIDAS is constantly adding new features and making enhancements to this
extremely stable operating system, so that you always experience the best possible performance from
your X32. Check out behringer.com for updates regularly.
NOTE: It is recommended that you backup all data (export Show and Libraries to USB) before updating,
as a fi rmware upgrade may erase data currently stored on your X32. Please be aware that V 2.08 works
best on PC / Mac / Linux computers with X32-Edit 2.3 in wired networks, and with X32-Mix 2.2 on
Apple iPads (iOS 6 or 7) for wireless networking.

Update Instructions
Before you download and upgrade to a new fi rmware version, please take the time to backup all of
your data (including all Scenes, Shows and Snippets), as fi rmware upgrades may erase all of the data
currently on your X32 console. Whenever there is signifi cant data on the console, we recommend
storing the current status into a console scene, and then exporting the complete Show and the
Libraries (channel, eff ects and routing presets) to a USB thumbdrive. If the console was used in a
remote controlled setup, it may also help to take a written note of the current IP settings on the SETUP/
network screen.
NOTE: There are two diff erent installation methods dependent upon the manufacture date.
For units manufactured March 2013 and after use the following steps:
1. Download the new console fi rmware from the X32 product page onto the root level of a
USB thumb drive.
2. Hold the USB VIEW button depressed while switching the console on to enter the update mode.
3. Plug the USB thumb drive into the top panel USB connector.
4. The X32 will wait for the USB drive to become ready and then run a fully automated
fi rmware update.
5. When a USB drive fails to get ready, updating will not be possible and we recommend switching
the console off / on again for booting the previous fi rmware.
6. The update will take 2-3 minutes longer than the regular boot sequence.
For units manufactured before March 2013 use the following steps:
1. Plug the USB Flash drive into the top panel USB connector of the X32 while the console is
switched off .
2. Switch the console on. While booting, the X32 will run a fully automatic fi rmware update,
which will take 2-3 minutes longer than the regular boot sequence.
3. Once the fi rmware update is complete the X32 LCD Display will return to the standard operating
screen and the console is ready to use.
4. Remove the USB Flash drive and store for future use or erase the fi rmware and repurpose.
