(contenu en anglais)The Guild D50 is a dreadnought acoustic guitar that has twenty frets and isn't an acoustic/electric, so it doesn't have any pick ups or setting controls. The neck is made out of mahogany and definitely has a good feel on the fingers. Overall it has a sturdy build and definitely looks and feels how I think that a dreadnought guitar should.
UTILIZATION
Playing the Guild D50 is a breeze as it has a great overall feel. It is easy to play all around the neck including the highest notes. It has the traditional dreadnought style body and the weight of the guitar isn't too heavy at all. It it easy to get a nice sound from the guitar granted that you know how to play of course! No complaints as far as playing this guitar at all as it really has a great feel.
SOUNDS
The overall sound of the Guild D50 is outstanding. It has a really big and full sound to it and pretty much embodies the sound that I think of when I think of a dreadnought guitar. I'm not sure if this is modeled in anyway after the classic Martin D50, but it has a similar quality and style to it. This is one of the better acoustic guitars that I have played in terms of fullness and overall sound quality.
OVERALL OPINION
I first played the Guild D50 about two or three years ago and it is really a special guitar in my opinion. It is a great guitar whether you want to use it for recording or for live shows. While you will pay a pretty penny for the Guild D50, it is priced right considering how high quality of a guitar that you are getting with the D50. I would encourage anyone interested to definitely take the next step and try one out.
