All CZX bass drums and the floor toms are constructed of 10 ply 100% maple, 12,5mm in thickness.
This extra shell density creates the optimum cavity for maximum low end tonal presence without unwanted ambience, while still retaining sharp high end punch.
The floor toms and bass drums within the CZX Custom series are the thickest professional shells offered by Pearl.
As with all CZX drums these shells feature a bird-eye maple exterior available only in hand stained champagne lacquer.

CZX mounted tom and snare drum shells are also constructed of 100% maple, 8 ply and 10mm in thickness.
CZX reasearch indicated this shell density allows for the widest mid-range band, the lowest harmonic sustain, and the cleanest high end attack.
A bird-eye maple exterior and beautiful champagne lacquer finish complete the exclusivity of the CZX series.

Only selected high density maple, aged and air cured for perfect moisture control, is used to creat these cross laminated perfectly symmetrical shells.

Layer upon layer of highly polished clear lacquer protects CZX's hand stained bird-eye maple exterior, in color indigenous only to CZX, champagne.
