(contenu en anglais)This amp is pretty much just junk. Marshall seems to put out these low end cheap amps and rotate the model numbers every few years or so. They have since discontinued this amp and think is replaced by the MG series amps.
If you are simply going for a practice amp that will be decent at low volumes and allow you to just get your chops and technique down then this is a great amp for that. This is in no way a gigging amp or a stage amp of any kind.

SOUNDS
This amp has the classic Marshall/British distortion. You can play this amp at very low volumes and with the headphone jack be able to silently play in your home or office without interruption.
Any guitar will sound fine with the amp. I prefer a nice Gibson Les Paul with Marshall amps as they seems to fit sonically together very well. Even a good Fender Stratocaster will sound too. It just depends on the mood whether or not you want to get a fat sounding distortion tone or a sweet Jimi Hendrix Strat tone with the single coils.
OVERALL OPINION
These amps are not being produced anymore and so the used market is the only option at this point. I have no idea what they are going for these days in this market. I think with the hybrid technology with solid state and tubes give this amp a step above the all solid state amps, but it still doesn't get that real tube punch.
I would recommend this amp to someone who needs a good practice amp and doesn't want to spend a lot of money doing it. It has an emulated direct out so if you wanted to use this to record you can or even run a line directly to the house PA system. Not sure how that would sound but worth a shot I guess.20- mooseherman

It's part of Marshall's Valvestate series, which means that it's supposed to sound like a tube amp but use solid-state technology. This is a common feature that has been happening from the early 90s onwards, and it's infiltrated most amp manufacturers since it helps cut costs.
The amp has a 1/4" input, as well as a CD input and a headphone output. The CD input allows you to play along to a CD or similar device to learn songs, which would indicate that this is very much a beginners' amp. The amp is 50 watts and has two channels, clean and overdrive, and reverb.
UTILIZATION
The controls for this amp include a gain, volume, and two-band eq for the clean channel. Also, there is a gain, volume, and three-band EQ for the overdrive channel. There is one reverb knob which controls the reverb for both channels.
Getting a good sound out of this amp takes a minute, assuming you like solid-state like tones. The manual explains everything with this amp pretty clearly, though it doesn't really get into detail about how to get the best sound.
SOUNDS
I don't really think this is one of Marshall's better amps. To be honest, both channels on this amp are lacking. The claim of this amp emulating tube tone is a pretty weak one, to be honest. The clean channel is way too pure to be considered tube. That doesn't mean it's a horrible tone, but it isn't one that I prefer at all. The overdrive channel is honestly not "rock" enough for me. I find it to be overly heavy. With a guitar that has humbuckers, and is suitable for rocking out, you can get some really heavy, almost metal, sounds with it. That makes it good for any metal lovers or even 80s hard rock fans. However, I don't find the EQs to be that great, and the sound is really not that great for anything but the aforementioned genres. Also, the reverb isn't that great either.
OVERALL OPINION
This amp really isn't anything special. The price is the only thing about it that is good, which makes sense considering it's not that great overall. The sound isn't the best I've heard from Marshall. En son clair , c'est très simple le gain permet d'adoucir le son genre ballade en accord ou de le durcir un peu si on veut un léger grain idéal aussi pour compenser si on utilise des humbuckers ou des micros simples , on regrette l'absence de réglage médium qui n'ouvrira pas la porte au jazz(médium oblige) à noter une puissance nettement inférieur par rapport au canal saturé (ex :en clean on est vite a la moitié du volume en bar concert)sinon le son est satisfaisant assez brillant quand même.
En son saturé , on est quand même dans un niveau de distortion assez élever ca n'est pas de l'overdrive type TS mais ca n'est pas métal non plus bref du marshall pur et dur idéal pour le blues rock ,le gros rock et même le hard , ca sonne un tantinet plus transistoré que les VS 80 et VS 100 d'avant mais attention ca envoie et la puissance du canal est équivalent au VS 80 & 100 d'avant( ex : a peine au tiers dans un bar concert) et pour l'équalisation c'est du marshall aussi ,c'est a dire qu'il faut vraiment tourner le bouton pour que ca change mais ca n'est pas nouveau dans cette marque sinon à part le gain et l'équa pas de réglage supplémentaire ,il y a un son point.
La reverb quand à elle est très sympa, pas envahissante tout comme il faut ,si on pousse ca n'est pas démesuré .
AVIS GLOBAL
Je l'ai utilisé pendant un an et demi avant de passer sur du tout lampe fender et j'en était satisfait . J'utilisai une blues driver Boss aussi pour avoir trois sons :du clair , une od plus légere avec la BD pas trop poussée en gain et la disto de l'ampli plutot poussée . Acheter 150 euro d'occase ca valait le coup mais en neuf je trouvait le prix démesurer pour ce que c'est ( Dans les 450 euro je crois ).
