(contenu en anglais)The Smart Research C2M Stereo Compressor is a dual channel compressor, but only has controls for the stereo pair. It is an analog unit and has XLR connections in the back. It is a rackable unit and will take up a single rack space unit.
UTILIZATION
The general configuration and set up of the C2M is really easy. Setting it up is just as easy as any other rack mountable piece of gear while the configuration of the unit is straightforward. It has basic compressor controls as well as buttons to control some external features. Anyone who has any experience with basic compressors will be able to figure this out as it doesn't stray to far from the most basic compressor. I have never seen a manual for this, so I can't speak to if it is helpful or not.
SOUND QUALITY
The overall sound quality of the Smart Research C2M Stereo Compressor is top notch. It is crisp and clear while doing its job effectively. Since it is a stereo compressor, it makes it great for mastering as it is quite easy to just through your stereo mix through this for a great tone. The C2M also works great for vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, and electric keyboards. It is an overall great sounding compressor and is suitable for all types of applications, it just depends what you are looking for.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the Smart Research C2M Stereo Compressor and I have been thoroughly impressed with the sound quality and the ease of use. It has a sleek design, and getting a nice sound is quick and usually easy. Smart Research is a small company with a great product line of compressors and audio gear. This isn't cheap, but it is priced right as it is a high quality compressor. Overall, highly recommend!
