Steinberg Wavelab 7 is compatible with Mac and Pc. It is a mastering software that has everything you need and unlike other mastering tools, WaveLab 7 is truly its on program, you use it as a stand alone and you can do all your mastering and then burn it right to a CD or DVD right from Wavelab 7. You can edit your audio extremely fast with WaveLab 7. The manual for it was easy to understand and everything is labeled accordingly so you can easy navigate through it to find what you need to understand or reference to. This is the first version of WaveLab that I have used so it took me some time but I finally got it down. You can even restore or re-master audio with WaveLab 7’s VST3 restoration by Sonnox.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I have tried to use WaveLab 7 on my Dell Laptop running Windows XP service pack 2 and on my Dual Core PC running Windows Vista and it wouldn’t work because it requires you to have Windows 7. So I had to use it on my main studio desktop custom PC that has Windows 7 on it and it worked fine with no issues. I do wish that it would run on previous Windows Models. Also if you use it on a Mac you must have 10.6 OS or higher for it to work. As well as needing 1024MB RAM.

    OVERALL OPINION

It is a great mastering suite that will give you an in-depth look at the audio you want to work with. You can then master that audio without any problems and WaveLab 7 pretty much does the work for you. But when its all said and done it comes down to mastering with what you feel comfortable with. I felt very comfortable with WaveLab 7. You will need a great sound card as well, though I have never used he previous version of WaveLab7 I am hooked now!
