(contenu en anglais)I've owned my pair of M-Audio BX5 Studio Monitors for several years, and I actually initially received them as a gift for helping record a local band. These monitors feature a 5-inch woofer, a 1-inch tweeter, a sub-frequency port in the back, and it has inputs for both XLR and TRS line (1/4 inch). The monitors have a power switch and a volume control on the back, although I would recommend keeping the volume at max, and controlling the output volume from the computer audio hardware. These monitors have no screen or mesh on the front, which makes for clearer sounds, but they can be accidentally damaged if not careful. For example, the covering on the tweeter was accidentally pressed in once during transport. You can definitely see the woofer moving during louder recording sessions.
There are also EQ and acoustic spacing controls on the back: one for bass control, one for treble, one for mid, and the one for acoustic spacing (placement near walls). This allows for fine tuning of the response of the speakers directly, which is certainly necessary.
SOUNDS
The sounds from these monitors has been wonderful, and I have never felt the need to replace them. The speakers are solid, I've never heard them crack during louder volumes. If extreme bass response is necessary, you may need to supplement these speakers with a subwoofer. I find that when I'm specifically listening to bass guitar tracks, I'll need to put on my headphones to get a better sound. But if I'm listening to a mix overall, I can certainly hear the bass and kick drums fine.
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, these are great medium sized studio monitors, made by a reputable professional audio company, that I would recommend to anyone. They are simple, and they simply get the job done. Even if you are not into professional audio and recording work, these monitors still sound great and are pretty affordable.10

I got them because they are small and easy to move from place to place, as I was doing recording on the go a bit at the time. It is also nice that these are self powered as it doesn't need a separate power amp.
SOUNDS
I have used these for mixing as well as monitoring during tracking. It works better on the latter because since they are pretty small they don't cover all of the low end you would look for in mixing monitors. That being said, the overall sound of these is good and great for listening to music on or listening back to mixes on. Also great to use when A/Bing mixes. The sound is clear although these probably aren't suitable for serious mixing because of their small size.
OVERALL OPINION
I got a pair of M-Audio Studiophile BX5s about six years ago and have since upgraded. In general I like the sound of these, but since it lacks overall fullness and low end definition, they aren't great for mixing. The price is very cheap which makes it an attractive option. While I like these, I would probably recommend the M-Audio BX8s, which is the step up from these, because while they are a bit more expensive, they are larger and cover a wider frequency spectrum. At this point, I wouldn't use these to mix on because I have upgraded to Mackie HR824s and Yamaha NS-10ms which work great for mixing for me. A benefit of these being as small as they are is that they are easy to move, which was a big plus for me. All in all, these are good sounding speakers for the small home studio and for those on a budget.00

Pour un home studio c'est sympa c'est quand même des bonnes enceintes entrées de gamme, j'imagine les BX8, ou alors couplé avec un subwoofer.
Pas d'ampli, mais je les branche cash sur les sorties de ma Hoontech DSP 2000, et ça roule qd même bien.

L'image stéréo est canon si on les place bien, c'est clair, moi je peux pas, mais pour avoir essayé c'est bien fait, on est IN !( oubliez pas le triangle équilatéral, merci AF)
Le son est précis, clair ça oui, y'a pas bcp de basses, le fait que les amplifications soient séparée ça joue qd même pour un son bien retranscrit.
La dynamique est respectée, et le plus c'est les réglages de l'espace acoustique, mid boost, ou alors eq sur les aigus de +2 0 -2 db. Sympa, et content je suis ! Toujours tenir compte qu'il manque des basses
AVIS GLOBAL
Depuis hier, j'arrête pas de découvrir des trucs nouveaux sur les voix. La précision aigue est vachement appréciable, les voix sont quand même mieux retranscrises qu'avec ma chaîne Hi-Fi c'est bluffant ici, j'ai aps essayé pour les guitares, mais pour les percs plus fat, c'est pas génial, correct. C'est mes premières avec 4 mois de réfléxion qd même.
Le motif c'est le prix quand même, j'en suis pas à 1000 euros mais à 400 c'est pas pareil ça fait un micro un préampli et une carte son + BX5 pour le même prix !
Oui, ou alors avec quelques roros supplémentaires, les BX8, ou alors le subwoofer en bonus.
EN fait évolutif, clair, customisable, pas trop chère, c'est normal que ça séduise beaucoup de personnes, dont moi. J'attend de voir des BX16 lolLire moins00
