    UTILIZATION

This is a nice entry from Peavey. It is basically a Strat-style guitar with a new shape and a different tremolo system. It plays very comfortably - the neck was a thin C shape, and it felt very much like a thinner version of a MusicMan neck. The tremolo is Peavey's own design - it is a very good-looking bridge, and it is recessed into the top of the guitar just a bit. It is a very smooth-playing trem system. Balance is sublime on this, due to the smaller headstock and body shape. Fit and finish-wise, this guitar is very well made.

    SOUNDS

The tones in this guitar are about as versatile as one could expect out of a good HSS Strat-style guitar. The bridge pickup screams and cuts nicely, while the neck and middle pickups offer some nice warmth characteristics. The in-between tones can get quacky in a neat 70s funk kind of way, and no matter what position the switch is in, the pickup tone is very clear. Basically, any style one could think of would work well on this instrument.

    OVERALL OPINION

Across the board, this guitar is a very good instrument for the money. I'd recommend it to anyone looking that doesn't want any of the traditional designs, but still wants a good deal in an inexpensive guitar. The distinctive look will get some attention, yet it is still a design that the most conservative player could pull off.
