Salut,

je reviens sur un sujet en ouvrant un nouveau post histoire de pas se mélanger les pinceaux :)
en reprenant le thème sur les copies de sons dans les EXP pour les Roland FA.... Lennon, je reprends ta réponse qui en fait le sujet principal....

Alors j'ai testé ce matin en installant les EXP 04 et 05....
J'ai copié dans mes users tones le son Pure EP 01 car il me plait bien....
j'ai réinstallé souhaitant pioché dans les autres EXP, les EXP 01 et EXP 03....
et là en écoutant le User Pure EP 01, il y a bien le tone, pas de soucis, mais aucun son car il n'y a plus les Waveforms de la carte 05....

Pour moi, je pense que ce n'est pas possible de faire un panaché de plus de 2 EXP dans le FA... ? car il doit prendre toutes les waveforms de la carte choisie.... et à chaque installation d'une carte, il écrase toutes les waveforms...

mais si tu veux me donner la marche à suivre et que ça fonctionne je serais le plus heureux des utilisateurs du FA.... ;-)

Ce qui me fait halluciné c est qu il n y a rien d expliqué dans la notice !

En fait, la procédure à suivre est expliquée dans le fichier texte (EXP-??_Readme_e.txt) contenu dans chacune des archives téléchargeables sur axial.roland.fr.

Citation de axial.roland.fr :
+ Usage

1. Copy the downloaded file (EXP**.bin) to the root directory of the USB memory.

2. Plug the USB memory into USB FOR UPDATE connector.

3. While pressing the [preview] button, turn on the power.
Hold the [preview] button until the FA boots in Wave Update Mode.

4. The screen will display the file names corresponding to the pad numbers.
For example, EXP01.bin is pad number 1.

5. There are two wave expansion slots. First, press one of the pads to select the wave expansion data for slot 1.
For example, press pad 1 to select EXP01.bin.

6. When you press one of the pads, it will show the EXP name.
For example, [slot1] -> [EXP-01: Dance Trax Collection]

7. The import procedure for slot 2 is the same as slot 1.
If you do not want to load anything to slot 2, press the [exit] button.

8. When the screen displays "Are you sure?", press the [enter] button to load the sounds.
If you would like to start over, press the [exit] button.
If you decide not to load any sounds, turn off the power.

9. When the FA-06/FA-08 is loading the sounds, "Writing..." will be displayed on the screen.
It will take approximately three minutes to load per slot.
When the FA-06/FA-08 is done loading the sounds, "Complete" will be displayed on the screen.

10. Reboot the FA-06/FA-08.


The EXP series is PCM based. There are two ways to select the sounds.

- In the STUDIO SET PLAY screen, select the Category Lock icon and
turn the dial to "UNLOCK" it. Next, change the TYPE to PCMS or PCMD,
and change the BANK to Ex**. You will now be able to select the
sounds in order from this screen.

- Press the category buttons and turn the dial to scroll through
until you reach the Ex** banks. You can also press the category
buttons and then press the [enter] button to show the TONE LIST.


* The Studio Set's part parameters will affect the sound of the Tones.
To avoid this, you will need to initialize the Studio Set or the Part.
For details, please refer to the FA-06/FA-08 Reference Manual.

* If for any reason FA-06/FA-08 stops loading the sounds or "Error"
is displayed on the screen, please follow the instructions from the beginning.


Mais, les explications ne sont données qu'en anglais (et en japonais...). Merci à karmawill d'avoir traduit la procédure pour les non anglophones.

Les séries EXP sont à base d'échantillons PCM. Il y a deux possibilités pour sélectionner les sons.
  • Dans l'écran STUDIO SET PLAY, sélectionner l'icône "Category Lock" (verouillage de catégorie) et tourner la roue codeuse pour dévérouiller. Ensuite, changer le TYPE de son en PCMS (instrument) ou PCMD (percussion) et changer BANK en Ex**. Vous pouvez alors sélectionner les sons dans leur ordre de numérotation à partir de cet écran.
  • Presser un des bouton de sélection de catégorie (sous l'écran) et tourner la roue codeuse jusqu'à atteindre les banques Ex**. Vous pouvez également appuier sur une touche de catégorie puis presser le bouton ENTER pour affichier la TONE LIST (liste des sons).
Les paramètres du Studio Set affectent la tonalité des Sons (Tones). Pour éviter de les dénaturer, il faut préalablement initialiser le Studio Set ou la Partie (Part). Pour plus de détails, se référer au manuel utilisateur (Reference Manual) du FA-06/FA-08.

Si le FA-06/FA-08 reste bloqué lors du chargement des sons ou affiche "Error" à l'écran, reprenez les instructions depuis le début.

Super, n'hésite pas à nous dire quels sont les EXP que tu préfères et les sons qui t'ont plu en particulier. :bravo:

Pour l instant j ai mis l exp 3 et 4
A voir avec le temps ...
J aurais voulu mettre la Tb 303 de l integra 7 mais je sais pas si c est possible ?

Tu peux tout à fait récupérer les sons de type SuperNatural Synth prévus pour l'Integra-7 car, avec le FA, ils ont le même moteur de synthèse (attention, ça ne s'applique pas aux SN Accoustic ou aux SN Drums).

La seule limitation, c'est que tu ne peux pas récupérer les patchs complets, uniquement les sons. En gros, pas de Studio Sets préprogrammés (avec empilements et arpégiateur), mais uniquement des Tones. Ce qui n'empêche en rien d'en inventer soi-même...

Pour la partie PCM, les banques d'extensions sont forcément au format EXP...
