Ever since Fender put a tremolo bridge on a guitar, players have been looking for a way to keep the guitar in tune after a good whammy. Over the years, numerous fixes have been devised, everything from the cheap (graphite pencil shavings) to expensive (the Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo system).

Big Bends introduced their Nut Sauce compound in 2001, and it immediately found a place on the bench of nearly every guitar tech on the planet. The result of nearly 10 years of perfecting the lubrication formula and application, Nut Sauce is designed specifically to eliminate string contact friction at the nuts, saddles, and string trees of string instruments to eliminate friction-based tuning stability issues. What's more, it's also specifically designed to be safe with all common materials used in guitar construction. It will not corrode metal or plastic, and indeed helps prevent corrosion in many instances, as it forms a micro-barrier against moisture.

Nut Sauce comes in a variety of sizes of syringe-style applicators. The idea is to precisely apply a very, very small amount of the nut sauce to the contact point of the string, and then further apply it with the included miniature swabs. Mandolins, which are notorious for tuning stability issues, benefit greatly from regular application of Nut Sauce.

Nut Sauce has a variety of non-advertised uses, and serves great as a lubricant for threads on truss rods, as well as tuning key gears. The precision applicator makes it easy to get into tight spots.

It isn't the cheapest solution to tuning friction, at $20 a piece for the smaller size, but it is one of the best, and an indispensable tool to have on the bench when stringing and tuning guitars. A little bit goes a long way, so even the smaller applicator will last quite a while. Even double-locking Floyd-Rose tremolos benefit from the application of Nut Sauce.

So don't be the constantly-tuning guitarist. If you have tuning stability issues, give Big-Bends Nut Sauce a try. You'll be surprised at how much it can help, and in some cases completely eliminate such issues, and get you back on the road to more playing and less tuning.
