The Rivera Quiana 212 Combo is a guitar combination amplifier, delivering 100 watts of power. The amp has two 12" speakers, and has two main channels on it. It is indeed a tube based amplifier, and comes with a foot switch to help you choose your channels and boost on the fly.
UTILIZATION
The make up of the Rivera Quiana 212 Combo is overall incredibly simple to follow. While I do have a good amount of experience with different guitar amps, even if you aren't all that experienced I think you'll be able to catch on quickly regardless. Each of the two channels have parameters for volume, bass, middle, treble, and master volume. It also has built in reverb, with a parameter to control that as well as one for the overall presence and focus for both of the channels. I haven't seen the manual for the Rivera Quiana 212 Combo, so I don't know how well put together it is or if it would be helpful or not.
SOUNDS
The Rivera Quiana 212 Combo has an absolutely killer tone. It is really the perfect little boutique amp, as it has a ton of control with two awesome sounding channels. It definitely has a vintage sort of sound, as it doesn't sound like an amp that is being made today for sure. I've used the amp a number of times for recording with both a Fender Stratocaster and a Fender Jazzmaster, both of which matched up very well with my amp. I didn't use too many effects with the amp, except a bit of drive and the built in reverb, if I can remember correctly. The reverb is definitely usable, but isn't anything like the classic Fender amp's reverbs.
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, the Rivera Quiana 212 Combo is a very impressive amp. It has just about everything that I'd look for in a great amplifier, as it has a tone that is to the point with a lot of control. Having two channels with the same parameters is awesome as it makes it possible to have two differing tones going at the same time, and is easily switchable between them with the foot switch. You're going to have to spend a decent amount of money of a great guitar amp like this one, but I would say it is definitely worth it for those looking for a high quality tube amp to hold onto for years to come...
