The Gibson Les Paul guitar is a robust and iconic guitar that has been one of the most easily recognized guitars in the world. This was to go to guitar for many hard rock players that preferred humbucker pick ups and a mahogany wood body over the fender style guitars with single coils pick ups. This would give hard rock players more versatility with the humbuckers and also the noise canceling on the pickups.

UTILIZATION

This is the only Les Paul guitar that I know of which the color has its own name such as the black beauty. This is the only guitar that I'm aware of that has a specific name to the color that is. It has gold hardware and it is a custom piece. Custom Gibson Les Paul guitars are very easily recognizable because the headstock as a diamond shaped pearl in Lane right below the Gibson logo name as well as the pearl block inlays on the frets include one pro block inlay on the first fret. That is the best way to figure out whether or not you have a custom Gibson Les Paul guitar or something else.

This is a very easy guitar to dial in for exceptional tones I would like to round off the volume to around nine on the Gibson Les Paul because I just find sweet spot is around 9 instead of 10. You also have two tone control knobs for each pick up which allows you to dial in the higher frequencies to the lower frequencies of your hand. You have a pickup selector switch on the top part of the body which allows you to switch from rhythm to treble or lead.

SOUNDS

This guitar is quite amazing! The Gibson Les Paul custom guitars are the some of the finest guitars mate. How to any other manufacture this has to be one of my favorite looking in favorite usable gigging and recording guitar. The black beauty even though the color doesn't really make it in a better sounding and it's the quality that's built into the Gibson Les Paul custom guitars. There is an extra care and precision that comes in to the custom guitars that is absent and the standards in the studio Gibson Les Paul guitar's.

The tone of this matches is very well with the Marshall amps of some sort or a high gain amplifier. This guitar has it take deep ridge town that resonates very well when given a lot of distortion in the amplifier. It doesn't clean up as well as I would like it too but given it is a 70s version of the Gibson Les Paul it does have a center tone and some of the newer ones which has a lot sticker voicing in my opinion.

OVERALL OPINION

These guitars are are easy to find in the used market because of their big saturation back in the 70s. Gibson made a lot of these guitars back and then dead days so finding one of these is pretty easy to find. These guitars very from guitar to guitar as far as feel and response so I would advise playing it before you buy. This is guitar has a rich warm tone that is usable for just about any style of music. That is one of the highlights of the Gibson Les Paul custom guitar is ability to transcend from genre genre of musical styles.
