The fender telecaster is a simple guitar with a simple design and not a whole lot of bells and whistles. It has a great organic sound in a very percussive snappy clean attack. The overall voicing in this instrument is very catered towards the person who likes a vintage guitar tone or a nice solid clean Chinese tone. These guitars sound fantastic and pretty much any setting the you put them in but they really excel in the's clean amplifier settings.
UTILIZATION
These guitars are a fantastic guitar for a simple set up any simple approach. You have to single coil pickup installed in the bridge and a humbucker in the neck which gives a nice chimy tone as well as a thick neck saturated tone. As far as an electronics come you have a volume control and a tone control and a pick up selector. It's a pretty basic set up and a simple design.
SOUNDS
These guitar sound phenomenal when you pair them up with a good American amplifier such as a fender twin reverb or a Fender Hot Rod Delux or a fender bassmaen or pretty much any amplifier that Fender makes. These guitar sound phenomenal when you have a good vintage tone working for you. They sound excellent. If you have a nice delay or course pad or some other modulation effect thrown in the mix. I prefer a Seymour Duncan pick up and eat guitars primarily because I'm not fan of the fender pick ups.
OVERALL OPINION
I have no idea what the going rate for these guitars are in the used market. Fender has been doing reissue with the relic treatment and you can always get he a custom one done from Fender which takes about 3 weeks to have done. There nice little pick up a nice addition to your guitar collection if you need a good guitar collection or they can be a good guitar for someone who's more into indie rock brit rock or country music. They have a great sound and a very authentic sound that is unique to them alone.
