This is the third pedal of this team up between Fender and Boss pedals. This is an emulation of the 63 Reverb amp unit that looked like an amp and had some components of amps inside but was actually just a reverb pedal/amp.

This peal is very simple and easy to control. There is three basic control to this unit. You first have the mixer control knob which allows the amount of reverb the unit will produce. Second you have a tone knob which will allow you to brighten or darken the pedal up much like the tone control knob on your guitar. Finally, you have the dwell control knob which adjusts the level of the original signal that goes to the reverb unit.

SOUND QUALITY

If you are a fan of reverb than this is a great pedal for you. I love reverb but I have analog delay pedal that i sue to give a little natural reverb to my tone. If I didn't have that this would be the next best thing in my opinion.

The tone of this pedal is fantastic and really allows you to get a nice bluesy reverb tone reminiscent of the old records from the 60's. This would a pedal that the guys in the Beach Boys would have used if they didn't use the real deal. The tone is natural and very tube like for a pedal anyways.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these pedals come in at around $139. not a bad price for a great sounding reverb pedal. These pedals have a close simulation to the original units. Fender has now begun to reissue the actual amps now and they run about $650. So this would be a nice alternative if you didn't want to spend that much money. However if you have ever heard the real deal I don't think you would let yourself buy this pedal You would probably save up for the tube driven reverb. It is fantastic!!!
