Hi,
For many years I had searched for the right clean-to-breakup sound with manageable loudness that would fit with a Strat and a Tele.
I am from the Punk-Hxc world and moved to the Tele/Strat sound stuff a few years ago. In layman's terms, I am not a tweaker.
When trying a new piece of gear, it’s usually a 15-min experience to determine whether it's good to my ears or not.
The Duchess Deluxe was a no-brainer deal. I haven't been able to find a bad setting, and have found plenty of stellar ones.
I play it through its matching 2x12 cab in my studio and haven't tweaked any knobs for so long that I can't remember — the guitar’s own knobs are enough to go from clean to breakup.
Oh, and the dark side of it all: I still have all that expensive digital stuff gathering dust...
PS: Mine is the MK1
