The SE Electronics Instrument Reflexion Filter is designed for home studios and rooms that might not necessarily have the best acoustics and environment to work with. Like the one designed for vocals, this makes a little crevasse for your microphone and acts as a replacement for room treatment. This one is a good amount smaller than the vocal Reflexion Filter as well. It attaches right onto a mic stand and makes it pretty easy to get your microphone up and into it.

OVERALL OPINION
Working in a home studio environment can often be a rough place as far as acoustics go, so right off the bat I was excited when I heard about the series of Reflexion Filters made by SE Electronics. After having success with the vocal one, I decided to try out the one made for instruments to see if it was any better or if it could help me in any ways that the other one could not. I’m definitely glad that I did so as I’ve found it to be a real help for recording electric guitar as well as a variety of other applications where I’m not looking for an ambiance or extraneous noise. No matter what size studio you are working from or own, I would bet that this would come in handy at times. It is reasonably priced as well, at a price where just about any studio owner would feel good about the investment rather than having to put up treatment or re-do a whole space if these weren’t possible or practical. Depending on what type of work you’re doing, I’d recommend checking out the Vocal Reflexion Filter as well, as both of these are somewhat unique and one could work better than the other for you. All in all, SE Electronics has offered up a lot of help here…
