The DigiTech Time Bender is a complex delay and phrase sampler guitar pedal. It is a digital pedal that has 1/4 inch inputs and outputs and is powered by the power supply that comes with it. It isn't a rack mountable unit as it is a stomp box.
UTILIZATION
The configuration of the DigiTech Time Bender isn't the simplest as there are a lot of different parameters to take into account. For this reason it will take users a little practice to get used to the pedal. The unit has knobs for delay mode, delay time, tone, repeats, modulation, voicing, mix, and pattern while it has buttons for multiplier and store. It also has two separate foot pedals - one for delay on/off and recording and overdubbing and one for storing sounds and setting the tempo. The manual for the DigiTech Time Bender is pretty thorough and complete and is a good idea to have it around.
SOUND QUALITY
The sound quality of the DigiTech Time Bender is very good and it is possible to get a ton of different types of delay with this pedal. There are a wide array of different modes and parameters which makes it capable of getting all sorts of delay tones. The phrase sampling portion of the pedal is also pretty great as it will reproduce your sound cleanly and accurately. I use this pedal usually with a Fender Strat and '76 Fender Twin Reverb, so the sounds I'm hearing are pretty accurate and I definitely like what I hear. Overall, the DigiTech Time Bender is clean sounding and is incredibly versatile.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the DigiTech Time Bender for about a year and to me its one of the coolest delay and phrase sampler pedals out there because of the awesome variety you can get. While the price isn't cheap at all, you are getting a lot of different sounds for your money. I would encourage those interested in this pedal to try it out and see if it will work for what you are trying to do before you buy it because of this large price tag. Overall, the DigiTech Time Bender is a great sounding pedal that has a ton of variety to it.
