The Devistortion is a dual overdrive/distortion pedal designed and built by Devi Ever of Devi Ever Effects/Effector 13. It is the combination of two great overdrive/distortion pedals the Karaoke Party and the Electric Brown. To quote Devi the specifications are as follows:
- true bypass
- enclosure size : 4.7" x 3.7" x 1.18"
- boutique quality components
- incredibly low mA draw
- silicon transistor based
- 9 volt, 2.1 mm, negative tip power jack
- 9 volt battery snap inside (unscrew the back plate)
This unit is not rackable as it's a stombox effect with 1/4" input and outputs with a stomp switch to engage the effect.
UTILIZATION
This pedal is simple to set up you just plug your guitar into the input and your amp to the output, stick a battery inside and you're ready to go. The controls on the pedal are as follows, KP Volume, KP Texture, EB Volume and EB Texture with a stomp switch to engage each of the effects. The Volume controls simply alter the loudness of each effect and the Control knobs adjust the intensity and character of each of the effects.
The stomp switches allow you to have either effect on it's own both together or none at all. This allows you to get a great amount of versatility from one pedal.
SOUND QUALITY
I used this pedal mostly with my squier classic vibe duo sonic guitar and epiphone valve junior combo amplifier. This pedal is a very versatile overdrive/distortion effect. The KP side works really well as a garagey punk drive and the EB has a great mid heavy crunch sound. Together they combine and reach a fuzz like texture which gives you a great range of tones.
OVERALL OPINION
I think this is a great drive pedal and I'd recommend it over either the Electric Brown or Karaoke Party pedals on their own as they're both great effects and work really well together. It's very simple to use and for the price I think it's a really good deal.
