Ce plectre est fait à la main.
La prise en main de ce plectre peut demander un peu plus de temps d’adaptation qu’avec un plectre standard, car nous ne sommes pas habitués à jouer avec une telle épaisseur, pourtant, une fois habitué, il se révèle très efficace. Je tiens à souligner que la rapidité de la prise en main de plectres d’une telle épaisseur est variable en fonction des personnes et du temps qu’elles consacrent à leur instrument.
Le profil est droit et la pointe du plectre est très prononcée, ce qui permet une excellente précision, une grande rapidité et une excellente définition des riffs.
Le matériau utilisé est de haute qualité, très rigide et d’une grande durabilité. Personnellement, j’ai préféré commander l’effet « brossé » qui rend la surface antidérapante, parce que je transpire facilement des mains, mais vous pouvez le commander avec effet « poli » si cela vous convient.
Grâce au matériau utilisé et à sa pointe prononcée, ce plectre a un son très défini et très brillant. Dans un ensemble de mêmes instruments, les notes ressortent clairement plus que celles des musiciens qui utilisent des plectres standards. Ce plectre peut être utilisé pour tout style de musique.
Je recommande vivement ce plectre aux personnes qui veulent s’habituer à jouer avec des plectres plus épais. En effet, il faut savoir que les 10 mm d’épaisseur ne se trouvent qu’au centre du plectre, alors que sur le bord opposé à la pointe du plectre, l’épaisseur diminue jusqu’à environ 5 mm, permettant ainsi de faciliter la prise en main d’un plectre d’une telle épaisseur, et cela fait du Original Drop un excellent compromis pour s’habituer à passer d’une épaisseur plus fine vers une épaisseur plus importante. De plus, une telle épaisseur aide aussi à jouer en appliquant moins de force à l’attaque qu’avec un plectre plus fin tout en conservant à la fois la précision du jeu, la clarté et la dynamique du son, et cela soulage énormément la main qui tient le plectre. L’effet bénéfique de ce soulagement se ressent tout de suite et c’est la raison pour laquelle je pense que les plectres de Patrick Hufschmid mériteraient d’être connus des services médicaux comme une aide aux personnes dont les soucis de santé impactent le confort et la maîtrise de leur jeu.
En ce qui concerne le prix, bien qu’il y ait un certain investissement financier de base, au regard de la qualité et de la durabilité du matériau utilisé, du temps passé à confectionner un plectre de manière aussi passionnée par Patrick Hufschmid, je considère que son prix est plus que correct. De plus, n’oublions pas que ce plectre durera toute votre vie.

This plectrum is handmade.

Personally, I preferred to order the brushed surface which makes the surface non-slip, because my hands sweat easily, but you can order it with a polished surface if that suits you.
Thanks to the material used and its pronounced tip, this plectrum has a very defined and very bright sound. In an ensemble of same instruments, the notes stand out clearly more than those of musicians who use standard plectrums. This plectrum can be used for any style of music.
I highly recommend this plectrum for people who want to get used to playing thicker plectrums. Indeed, it should be noted that the 10mm thickness is only found at the center of the plectrum, while at the edge opposite the tip of the plectrum, the thickness decreases to around 5mm, thus making it easier to the handling of a plectrum of such thickness, and this makes the Original Drop an excellent compromise to get used to going from a thinner thickness to a greater thickness.
