Ce plectre est fait à la main.
La prise en main de ce plectre peut demander un peu plus de temps d’adaptation qu’avec un plectre standard, car nous ne sommes pas habitués à jouer avec une telle épaisseur et une telle forme, mais cela ne signifie pas qu’il soit moins bien, en effet, une fois habitué à ce plectre, il se révèle positivement surprenant. Je tiens à souligner que la rapidité de la prise en main de plectres d’une telle épaisseur est variable en fonction des personnes et du temps qu’elles consacrent à leur instrument.
Le profil est droit et la pointe du plectre est assez prononcée, ce qui permet une bonne précision et définition des riffs. La facilité avec laquelle on passe d’une corde à l’autre sans accrocs, me fait dire que ce plectre est particulièrement bien profilé pour le sweep.
Le matériau est très rigide et d’une grande durabilité. Personnellement, j’ai préféré commander l’effet « brossé » qui rend la surface antidérapante, car je transpire facilement des mains, mais vous pouvez aussi le commander avec l’effet « poli » si vous préférez.
Le son de ce plectre reste bien défini et brillant, toutefois accompagné d’une plaisante rondeur. Ce plectre peut être utilisé pour tout style de musique.
Les modèles Anvil ont généralement une épaisseur de 10 mm, mais celui que j’ai commandé en a une de 8 mm. L’épaisseur du Original Mega Jazz Anvil reste égale sur toute la surface du plectre. Comme pour les autres plectres ayant une grande épaisseur, cette particularité aide à jouer en appliquant moins de force qu’avec un plectre plus fin tout en conservant à la fois la précision du jeu, la clarté et la dynamique du son, ce qui soulage énormément la main qui tient le plectre. L’effet bénéfique de ce soulagement se ressent tout de suite et c’est la raison pour laquelle je pense que les plectres de Patrick Hufschmid mériteraient d’être connus des services médicaux comme une aide aux personnes dont les soucis de santé impactent le confort et la maîtrise de leur jeu.
En ce qui concerne le prix, bien qu’il y ait un certain investissement financier de base, au regard de la qualité et de la durabilité du matériau utilisé, du temps passé à confectionner un plectre de manière aussi passionnée par Patrick Hufschmid, je considère que son prix est plus que correct. De plus, n’oublions pas que ce plectre durera toute votre vie.

This plectrum is handmade.
The handling of this plectrum may take a bit more time than with a standard plectrum, as we're not used to playing with such thickness and shape, but that doesn't mean it's less well, in fact, once accustomed to this plectrum, it is positively surprising. I would like to point out that the speed of handling plectrums of such thickness varies according to the people and the time they devote to their instrument.
The profile is right angled and the tip of the plectrum is quite pronounced, which allows good precision and definition of the riffs. The ease with which you go from one string to another without a hitch, makes me say that this plectrum is particularly well profiled for the sweep.
The material is very rigid and very durable. Personally, I preferred to order the brushed surface which makes the surface non-slip, because my hands sweat easily, but you can also order it with a polished surface if you prefer.
The sound of this plectrum remains well defined and brilliant, however accompanied by a pleasant roundness. This plectrum can be used for any style of music.
Anvil models are usually 10mm thick, but the one I ordered is 8mm thick. The thickness of the Original Mega Jazz Anvil remains equal over the entire surface of the plectrum. As with other plectrums having a large thickness, this particularity helps to play by applying less strength than with a thinner plectrum while maintaining both the precision of the game, the clarity and the dynamics of the sound, which greatly relieves the hand that holds the plectrum. The beneficial effect of this relief is felt immediately and this is the reason why I think Patrick Hufschmid's plectrums deserve to be known to medical services as an aid to people whose health concerns affect the comfort and control of their game.
As for the price, although there is some basic financial investment, considering the quality and durability of the material used, the time spent crafting a plectrum so passionately by Patrick Hufschmid, I consider that its price is more than correct.
