- moosersPublié le 18/03/11 à 19:58 (contenu en anglais)The Eventide Reverb 2016 Bundle is a set of plug-ins that are designed after the classic Eventide SP2016 reverb modules. I've never used the original, but this plug-in is awesome in it's own right. The bundle is split into three separate algorithms - Stereo Room, High Density Plate, and Room Reverb plug-ins. Each are different takes on the SP2016, but share similar plug-in interfaces. I don't own this bundle so I was never involved with installing it, although I can't imagine it to be too hard of a process. I've used it on the systems at the studio where I work, as we've got a bunch of rooms on site. Learning the interfaces of these three plug-ins should be pretty intuitive as they are pretty easy to follow. Each has similar interfaces in terms of parameters so once you learn one you'll pretty much know the others. All three of them are easy enough to understand since they're not complicated at all to begin with, consisting of mostly familiar parameters regardless of your experience with the original SP2016. I haven't seen the manual for these plug-ins.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
The studio that I work at has the Eventide Reverb 2016 Bundle on all of our systems, and all of them are Pro Tools HD systems. Needless to say, very rarely do we experience issues at all related to performance, and I can't say I've ever had a problem running the 2016 plug-ins. Of course this will depend wholly on your system, but as long as you're currently able to run some plug-ins without issues, I'd think you'd be okay here.
OVERALL OPINION
The Eventide Reverb 2016 Bundle is a great one for any DAW owner to have. These are definitely more in line with traditional reverb plug-ins when compared to some of the other reverb like effects that Eventide has, which is a nice thing if that's what you're after. The High Density Plate plug-in is my favorite of the three, but I'm definitely partial to plate reverbs in general as I prefer their sound to other types of reverbs. Having said this, all three of the algorithms are quite effective and very nice to have as you never know when you might need some varying reverb tones. The Eventide Reverb 2016 Bundle is fairly priced for the quality, so if you're looking for a great set of verb plug-ins, this should probably be on your list of those to check out.00
