- songboyPublié le 24/01/10 à 08:54 (contenu en anglais)Some of my GSi Plugins have had some problems, but this one works flawlessly. There is no need for a manual, this is a reproduction of an old Spring Reverb unit. Yes, the general configuration is fairly simple. There are some parameters that I wasn't familiar with at first but I figured out there purpose after only a few moments of use. Yes, there are only a handful of parameters on this plugin and they are all right in front of you.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Yes, the software works great on my Macbook with Logic 9 and Ableton 8. So far, the software has been completely stable. I can't say that I use this plugin a lot, but it retains settings and presets perfectly fine and always sounds great. I give it a 10 out of 10 for performance. No problems at all. I have been using this plugin for about a year now.
OVERALL OPINION
What I like about this plugin the most is, like all of my GSi plugins, it sound fantastic. It is extremely realistic in comparison to the spring reverbs found in some of my guitar amps. A few other things I like are things like the ability to adjust the string tension. You can make it nice and tight so it sounds like a brand new spring reverb unit or you can loosen them way down so it sounds like an old guitar amp you got out of your dad's closet. This is such a good option when you want some really interesting sound on a vocal track. Another nice option is the "don't hit me" button. It is essentially a reproduction of the sound you get when you accidentally kick or hit you guitar amp (that waaaannnngg!!! sound). Although alone its nothing incredibly special, but if you run some delay and some other choice effects with it, it can be an extremely satisfying sound effect (great for "gong" like sound). There is nothing I dislike about this plugin. It is what it is and it does what it is supposed to do, very well for that matter. The precision and sound quality is spot on. Just what I would expect from GSi. This is the only "Spring" reverb plugin I own, but I have used many different guitar amps and even a mixing board (peavey xr1200) that contained spring reverbs and, with all the inherent limitations of a piece of software, this thing holds its own very well. I think I paid around $40 for this plugin. Its worth every penny, especially if you like to get your vocal tracks to sound something like "The Flaming Lips." Yes, I would definitely make the same choice again, great stuff.00
