The Stedman Proscreen 101 is a pop filter for use in the recording studio. If you are unfamiliar with what a pop filter does, basically it filters out certain harsh syllables and also protects the microphone from getting any spit or other residue on it. They are to be used when recording vocals only, but having one up is definitely necessary. The Proscreen 101 is a bit different from other pop filters I've used out there as it is made out of a harder material. I'm not sure if this really affects the sound quality though. The filter itself lies on a 13" adjustable goose neck that makes it easy to place and make adjustments without a problem.
OVERALL OPINION
While the Stedman Proscreen 101 definitely gets the job done, it isn't my favorite pop filter out there. I prefer those made out of the softer material, as I think that in general they at least seem more reliable. The Proscreen 101 is definitely reliable in it's own right, and the adjustable gooseneck is a nice feature that many pop filters don't have. The Proscreen 101 will definitely get the job done, but for whatever reason I just like using other pop filters better. The price of the Proscreen 101 is about average, so this shouldn't really be the deciding factor when it comes to choosing this pop filter or another one. If you're doing vocal recording of any type, having a pop filter is a necessity, so I'd recommend that those interested check out all of the different models out there before choosing, as there are a lot of them to choose from. The Stedman Proscreen 101 is a perfectly good pop filter at a good price, so definitely remember to look into it a bit when you do your shopping.
