C'est un splitter/buffer avec 1 entrée et 3 sorties.
Le modèle standard a 2 entrées en parallèle (Main Out et Split Out), et 1 isolée. Il est possible de commander un modèle avec 3 sorties isolées, qui seront utiles si vous désirez utiliser 3 amplis simultanément sans rencontrer une boucle de masse.
Il y a un switch pour inverser la phase.
La pédale fonctionne sur du 9VDC, et consomme peu de courant.

QUALITÉ SONORE
Je m'étais monté 2 buffers, qui ne m'avaient pas convaincu. Comme quoi il y a parfois un monde entre les schémas dispos sur le net, et une pédale pro.
Vu que la BS2 est un peu une référence, j'ai tenté le coup, et ouf la coloration m'a plu. Plus tard sur un forum US (HRI), j'ai découvert un topic qui comparait la BS2 et deux Masotti, sans dire au début du topic qui était qui. Ouf le sample que j'ai préféré, était celui de la BS2 !
AVIS GLOBAL
J'en ai une en 1ère sur mon pedalboard, et une autre dans mon rack pour splitter le signal vers mes 2 preamps. J'en suis pleinement satisfait.
Par rapport à la concurrence, elle n'est vraiment pas chère.
[edit] Axess Electronics a cessé son activité en 2009 ou 2010. Le buffer de Tone Freak serait très proche de la BS2, donc si je devais prendre un nouveau buffer, je me dirigerais vers ce dernier.
Sinon j'ai fait des changements dans mon rack, et maintenant si j'utilise la sortie isolée de la BS2 pour switcher vers mon preamp jmp-1, j'ai un beau bruit de fond typique d'une boucle de masse, ce qui est illogique. J'ai ramé pour trouver le problème pensant que ca venait du jmp-1 ou bien de mon interface rack.
J'ai alors testé la sortie en parallèle, et silence. Ca défie tout logique, mais au final ce qui m'importe c'est que mon système soit silencieux.

9v DC jack for power with an additional through jack in case you run out of outputs on your power supply.
There is also an internal boost trim pot that I found very useful.
UTILIZATION
Set up is a breeze with this device and the manual explains everything in common terms. You get your one input and then send the main signal out through your other pedals, gear, etc before hitting your amp. The isolated output can be sent to a separate amp without going through your pedal chain and the split out allows a constant feed to a tuner without actually having the tuner interfere with your signal.
SOUND QUALITY
I use the BS-2 at the start of my signal chain before hitting a pedal train full of pedals. Even with all true bypass pedals you will run into problems with your signal being loaded down with all the cabling and what not. This ends up killing some of the punch and high end of your sound leaving you with a dulled version of what you should be experiencing. The BS2 solves this problem. I did a quick A/B test with a small true bypass looper and easily heard the difference between having the buffer and not. I even left the LED off of the looper so that I could make an unbiased observation and was right every time. I did this test with the boost at 0 and was extremely happy with the results. After that I did end up using a bit of the boost to see if I could ditch the EQ pedal I had been using for similar reasons. The boost works great giving just a bit more kick without changing the overall tonality of my signal.
OVERALL OPINION
This little device is great and has allowed me to remove my Eq pedal that I was using as a boost/buffer. If axess was still in business I would easily pay full retail for one of these.
