Bonjour,

Je voudrais un petit micro SONY sur mon pocket (impedance 1000 ohms) mais le niveau du son est très faible. L'idée, c'est que je ne veux trouver une solution la plus portable possible (donc pas de préampli à brancher sur le courant). Je pensais brancher un adaptateur d'impédance, ou une boite de direct... Est-ce que ca pourrait marcher???

Je suis désolé mais question impédence je n'y comprend rien.
J'avais un SM 58 qui semblait faiblard sur le pocket et finalement je passe tout sur une table de mixage (problème réglé mais pas très portable...)

Voila bien le problème. Moi aussi j'ai une petite console avec preamp... mais je trouve qu'à partir du moment où il faut ajouter cet element, on perd tout l'interet du pocket (taille, transportabilité...) Je recherche donc un solution qui puisse être la plus légère, transportable... possible.

Obtenez un adapteur d'impédance de low/high, qui n'exige pas l'énergie électrique. Il ressemble à un XLR au connecteur de 6mm. Il amplifiera le signal du microphone légèrement, et est portatif. L'autre option devrait trouver un microphone à grande impédance. Aussi longtemps que vous gardez la longueur de câble sous un mètre, elle devrait fonctionner très bien.

Get a low/high impedance adapter, which does not require electric power. It looks like a XLR to 6mm connector. It will boost the signal of the microphone somewhat, and is portable. The other option would be to find a high-impedance microphone. As long as you keep the cable length under a meter, it should work fine.

Thank you Mike. You are definitely the boss of the PS...
I just need a precision. My mic's impedance is 1000 OHMS and i noticed that the kind of adapter you are talking about is made for input with an impedance up to 300 ohms. Will it work anyway, or will it buzz a little as i could imagine???
A last thing : it seems to be very hard to find such a adapter in France. Would you have any exemple (brand, models...)

The PS5 has an input rating of 12,000 ohms, and a standard low-impedance microphone is around 600 ohms. The adapter helps even that out, but since it is a passive device (requiring no power), it is not critical that the levels match exactly. So your 1,000 ohm microphone should be fine. 300 ohms is probably a minimum requirement. Most microphone companies make the adapters, so check anywhere that sells AKG, Shure, Audio-Technica, etc. Click here for an example from the States. Notice it can handle up to 50,000 ohms.

Good high impedance microphones are hard to find because they are limited to about a meter or so of cable length. Any longer and they suffer from loss of fidelity due to noise entering the cable like an antenna. This does not happen with low impedance microphones, so that type is more common. Usually if you go into an electronices store, the very cheap mics will be high impedance.
