Avid has released its next version of Pro Tools, Pro Tools 10, which features over 50 new features (see below).

As predicted, this update addresses many features requested by both the post and pro communities. However it still offers some excellent new features for all Pro Tools users.

Mac OS X 10.6.5 or higher and 10.7, Win 7
Works in 32 and 64 bit modes (but it is not a 64 bit app)
Minimum 4gb RAM, 8gb recommended

Toujours pas de 64 bits, pas de nouvelles performances concernant les instruments virtuels, ni la meilleur gestion des multicoeurs.
Encore un système verrouillé.
Par contre le nouveau format Plugn et la disparition du TDM semble une bonne chose, nous verrons apparaître du Cranesong et autres en Natif

AAX is a new plug-in platform that will eventually replace both TDM and RTAS plug-ins. There will be both AAC DSP and Native versions. New AAX plug-ins available with Pro Tools 10 will include Channel Strip, Revibe, Reverb One, Impact and Down Mixer.
An important fact is that existing plug-ins will continue to work in Pro Tools 10.

Chez certains éditeurs de softs, le prix des "cross-grades" vers un format qui n'apporte strictement rien à l'utilisateur fait sourire. Sonnox par exemple.
