- plus de choix pour le 'what are you connected to...' (enceinte 4x12 ...)
- rétro éclairage en rouge foncé permanent de tous les boutons (le podxt fait sa crise d'acnée)
- nouveaux sons à assayer...

Les explications officielles concernant l'upgrade:

Citation : Hello everyone,
Version 1.04 PODxt Flash firmware is officially released and available at our new Line 6 Software Download Page at our new site, https://software.line6.net There’s even a slick new updater utility for PC folks so updating will be a breeze. We have provided complete release notes, but I would like to give you a heads up as to what to expect when you install this new firmware into your PODxt. I don’t want anyone to think Line 6 is “leaving you in the dark” with regard to firmware updates.

There are a lot of little things that will be detailed in release notes, but the highlights are listed below.

Non-model related stuff:

- GuitarPort capable: GuitarPort software for PC can now be used with PODxt as an Editor/Librarian and as a portal to GuitarPort Online.

- Backlit buttons: The buttons are now backlit even when not selected. This helps you out when you’re on a dark stage or in a poorly lit studio – now you can read all the controls without a flashlight.

- MIDI over USB: PODxt will now be seen as a MIDI device by your OS so PC users don’t need a separate MIDI interface to control PODxt via MIDI – you just need a USB cable. This is a particularly big deal because firmware updates can now be performed over USB, which is much more stable than using the hardware MIDI jacks.

- Splash screen: There is now an animated splash screen when the unit powers up. Love the monkey! If you don’t like the monkey, you can hit “Tap” and he will go away.

- Bug fixes: There are a lot of little bug fixes that will be detailed further in release notes. One that comes to mind is that in prior versions, you couldn’t enter tuner mode if your currently selected patch was in the D slot. There were quite a few little things like that.

- Tap Tempo: It should be easier to get what you want when tapping a new tempo with the new release.

- Tuner entry time: Previously, you had to press and hold the Tap/Tuner switch for 3 seconds before you could enter Tuner mode. It now only takes 1.5 seconds.

- Vibe: The “What are you connecting to” page no longer offers an option for “Live: Front of 2x12 Combo.” The old “front of combo” mode was simply a “2x12 power amp with speakers” setting with some additional filtering to compensate for the sound of your combo amp’s preamp section. We have now split out the speaker configuration and the combo preamp compensation into two different adjustable parameters. The new “preamp compensation” parameter is now called VIBE. Now, it’s easier to make the PODxt sound good in front of a combo because there are a lot of VIBES to choose from. Incidentally, the VIBE that maps to the old “combo mode” setting is “MIDHVY – 480Hz” when used along with the “Live: 2x12” setting.

Model changes:

- New Dual Rec amp model: The Dual Rec amp model has been completely remodeled and renamed “Treadplate Dual.” You should find this model to be much better and more usable, but it will definitely affect any preset channels that feature this model.

- New Brit JM-800 amp model: The “Brit JM-800” has also been completely remodeled. Again, you should find this model to be much better and more usable, but it will definitely affect any preset channels that feature this model.

- 57 Off Axis mic model change: The 57-Off Axis mic model has been completely redone to improve the dynamic range. You will notice a difference in any preset channels that use this mic mode.

- 421 Dynamic mic model change: The 421 Dynamic mic model has been changed for 6 cabinets. You will notice a difference in any preset channels that use this mic model in conjunction with these cabinets.

- Mod Mix change: The Modulation Mix parameter has been re-scaled so that gain is not added when “Mix” is set to 50%. Before, it was possible to program a channel that did not clip, but adding a chorus or flanger would immediately cause your sound to clip. This fix should eliminate that situation, but you may notice that some of your channels with Mod enabled will be quieter. If you notice this, adjusting the channel volume should solve the problem.

- All Cabs were re-leveled. This should minimize the volume changes when selecting different cabs to use with the same amp.

- All Amps were re-leveled. In addition, when the gain knob is turned up, the volume is slightly scaled back (the amount varies per-model). This will make it easier to let a sound get more overdriven without letting the volume level get out of control.

Why did we change the models?

Since the first release of the original POD, people have asked for us to “make the clean amps louder.” The above two changes should help to address this problem and make it easier to get even transitions between clean and distorted patches when building a bank. Because these changes affect your gain structure and some things have more level than they used to, you may experience clipping in some cases where you did not previously. The sound hasn’t changed as a result of this new leveling – only the volume. If your channel is clipping, this is because the new scheme has made the sound louder. You should be able to get back to the original level and eliminate the clipping by simply reducing the channel volume.

Enjoy the changes and good luck!
