En 2017, la série American Professional vient succéder à la série American Standard. Les nouveautés par rapport à l'ancienne American Standard Jazz Bass V sont les micros V-Mod, un renfort de manche en graphite, un nouveau profil de manche "Slim Modern C", des frettes "Narrow tall", un sillet en os et un nouveau design de boutons de mécaniques. La finition Natural a été ajoutée en septembre 2017.
