Way Huge Electronics Saffron SqueezePublié le 10/08/10 à 21:19
contenu en anglais (contenu en anglais)
Way Huge Electronics's Saffron Squeeze is a compression pedal designed for electric guitar. The pedal is an analog one, consisting of standard 1/4" connections for input and output and a nine volt power supply jack. It's a pretty compact pedal, and isn't rack able since it's a foot controlled pedal.

    UTILIZATION

The make up of the Way Huge Electronics Saffron Squeeze is about as simple as you can get for a compression pedal, as it's just got two basic parameters for volume and sustain. These are self explanatory, so no assistance from a manual or otherwise should be necessary.

    SOUND QUALITY

I recently tired out the Way Huge Electronics Saffron Squeeze pedal on a recording session for some songs I'd written. We didn't end up using it on the recording, as I figured I could always go back and compress if necessary. I brought it out because sometimes you can get some unprecedented sustain with a compression pedal that is hard to get after the fact, but nothing jumped out to me as needing it. However, it really is a good sounding pedal, as it tightens up your sound a great deal and is perfect for getting some extra tight sustain on your lead sounds or for getting a crunchier rhythm part. Pretty much does exactly as advertised without adding any of it's own color or noise.

    OVERALL OPINION

While definitely more expensive than most compressor/sustain pedals out there, the Way Huge Electronics Saffron Squeeze is also a lot better sounding than most out there as well. It's awesome for lead parts in particular where you want some almost endless sustain, but really works well across the board in any situation where you might want some compression. I'd probably only recommend the Saffron Squeeze pedal for professionals or more experienced players with a bigger budget, as there are other options out there like the Boss CS-3 that sound good and are cheaper. Setting aside the price, the Saffron Squeeze is one of the best of it's kind without a doubt...
