The new pedal is the result of a collaboration between Animals Pedal and Matthew Holl, owner/founder of the California-based boutique effects builder Wren And Cuff.
In describing the circuit he designed for Animals, Holl says, "If you're a fan of the classic Rat pedals from the past, then you will be a fan of the Tioga Road Cycling distortion." Holl has revamped this classic circuit with fatter lows, and his favorite component values. Additionally, the pedal features a 3-way toggle switch allowing the player to choose between two different distortions (symmetric and asymmetric clipping), as well as a third setting producing a cleaner overdriven sound. "This is one very versatile distortion pedal that can be used for almost any style of music!" adds Holl.
