Par rapport à une réédition CBS classique, la plaque de fixation du manche normalement trois vis a ici été remplacée par une quatre vis. Le manche en érable adopte ici une touche de la même essence de bois. Comme d’habitude on retrouve la qualité de lutherie et l’assemblage sans faille typiquement nippons. Ce modèle ST72 a été modifié pour son pickguard, ses straps, son électronique mais surtout par un remplacement avantageux de ses micros par des DiMarzio DP117 HS-3 : des doubles au format simple.
