La 528e est une électro-acoustique haut de gamme de la série 500, reconnaissable à sa construction tout acajou massif et à son grand format Grand Orchestra, le plus imposant chez Taylor. La touche et le chevalet sont ici en ébène. Elle délivre un son très ample, avec beaucoup de basses, des médiums riches et un spectre très équilibré, idéal aussi bien pour le strumming puissant que le fingerstyle. Grâce à son système Expression System 2, elle est parfaitement adaptée à la scène et au studio, avec une restitution fidèle et dynamique. Globalement, c’est une guitare très expressive, chaleureuse et puissante, pensée pour les musiciens qui cherchent un instrument à la fois profond, précis et polyvalent. Chez Taylor, plus la nomenclature est haute, plus la guitare est luxueuse, et là, en 914, on touche au graal ! De format Grand Auditorium, la caisse est faite de palissandre indien, la table de sitka, le manche est en acajou, enfin touche et chevalet sont en ébène. Malgré ses dimensions compactes et son diapason court de 24⅛ pouces, elle offre un volume, une projection et une richesse harmonique surprenants grâce au barrage C-Class, dérivé du célèbre V-Class.
