En 2017, la série American Professional vient succéder à la série American Standard. Les nouveautés par rapport à l'ancienne American Standard Stratocaster HH Shawbucker sont 2 Shawkbuckers améliorés un nouveau profil de manche "modern Deep C", des frettes "Narrow tall", un circuit Treble-bleed sur le pot de volume, un sillet en os, et un bras de vibrato "pop in". Ce modèle n'est disponible qu'avec une touche en palissandre.
