The JSR2 is a throwback to the old school Charvel days when it was normal to have a vintage tremolo, one humbucker, one volume and where you played pure shred. The guitar has the following specs:

Ash body
Maple bolt-on neck with a rosewood fretboard
22 jumbo frets with sharkfin inlays
Wilkinson bridge
Seymour Duncan JB
One volume knob

UTILIZATION

This is a fairly old school guitar, and that's one of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of it. I'll start with the good stuff. The guitar was put together nicely. There were no issues with the neck pocket gap or the finish on this model. The frets were also in pretty good condition, albeit slightly grooved due to wear. The Wilky was also pretty cool. The bad parts were the fact that the nut was starting to wear (easily corrected) and the fact that there's no neck pickup. I'm a big user of the neck pickup with clean tones and leads, so not having that neck pickup was a bit of a pain for me.

SOUNDS

This guitar sounded pretty awesome. The pickup in the bridge was a Seymour Duncan JB, and when you paired it with the ash, you got a super cutting sound with some sick low end. The low end in ash is pretty unique in that you can get some really cool and fat sounds, but the treble of ash is extended to be very cutting. It's a pretty interesting tone wood. The JB in the bridge works great for those searing lead lines and sick 80s riffs, but I find that it doesn't work great for cleans thanks to it being in the bridge position. I was never a fan of bridge clean tones as they were always a bit too bright for my liking.

OVERALL OPINION

The lack of a neck pickup is the biggest deal breaker for me regarding this guitar. I really missed it whenever I wanted to play some lead lines as I tend to play lots of legato. The fat tone helps make everything sound more fluid, I've found. Aside from that, it's a pretty solid guitar, and I really liked the Wilkinson that was installed on this guitar.

UTILISATION

C'est une guitare scolaire assez vieux, et c'est une des raisons pour lesquelles je ne suis pas un grand fan de lui. Je vais commencer par les bonnes choses. La guitare a été mis en place gentiment. Il n'y avait pas de problèmes avec l'écart de poche cou ou la finition sur ce modèle. Les frettes sont également en très bon état, bien que légèrement rainuré due à l'usure. Le Wilky a également été assez cool. Les pièces défectueuses ont été le fait que l'écrou a été de commencer à l'usure (facilement corrigées) et le fait qu'il n'ya pas de micro manche. Je suis un grand utilisateur de la camionnette du cou avec des tons propres et conduit, donc ne pas avoir cette micro manche est un peu une douleur pour moi.

SONORITÉS

Cette guitare sonne assez impressionnant. Le pick-up dans le pont était un Seymour Duncan JB, et quand vous en avez jumelé avec les cendres, tu as un super son de coupe avec une certaine fin malades bas. La fin faible teneur en cendres est assez unique en ce que vous pouvez obtenir des sons vraiment cool et la graisse, mais les aigus de cendres est étendu à être très coupant. C'est un bois ton assez intéressant. Le JB dans le pont fonctionne très bien pour les lignes mènent brûlante et malades riffs des années 80, mais je trouve que ça ne fonctionne pas pour les grands grâce nettoie à ce qu'elle soit en position chevalet. Je n'ai jamais été un fan de tons propres pont comme ils étaient toujours un peu trop brillant à mon goût.

AVIS GLOBAL

L'absence d'un micro manche est le plus grand brise-face pour moi concernant cette guitare. J'ai vraiment manqué quand je voulais jouer quelques lignes plomb comme j'ai tendance à jouer beaucoup de legato. Le ton graisses contribue à faire tout ce bruit plus fluide, que j'ai trouvé. Mis à part cela, c'est une guitare assez solide, et j'ai vraiment aimé l'Wilkinson qui a été installé sur cette guitare.
