    Audio-Technica ATR30Publié le 28/03/11 à 23:13

The Audio-Technica ATR30 is a dynamic microphone that is for use both in the studio and on the stage. I've only got experience using the microphone in the studio at a band's home studio that I recently started working at. The mic has unidirectional cardioid pick up pattern and a frequency response ranging from 60 Hz to 15 kHZ. It also has an on/off switch and comes with it's own mic clip.

    OVERALL OPINION

The Audio-Technica ATR30 isn't a great microphone in my opinion, but for the price it's hard to go wrong. It's a good microphone to have as an extra, or if you're just looking for a cheap vocal microphone for your home PA system or something like that. I wouldn't recommend using it much in the studio, although that's really the only place where I've used it. I've tried recording tom tom drums with it but it's really not adequate for professional recording. It's aim is to be something like a 57, but it definitely falls short, although I wouldn't expect it to match it based on the price. What the Audio-Technica ATR30 is best for is as an extra microphone to have around, something on the cheap that you can use as a talk back microphone or something of the like. There's not much about it that stands out except for the price, which will surely drive some people to it. While it is cheap, as always you're going to get what you pay for, so if you want something that's good, you're going to have to pay a bit more than this. I would probably recommend going with something a little bit better than this if you're looking to record at a high quality, otherwise it will do the job fine if you just need something cheap...
