Maestro Stage PhaserPublié le 22/06/10 à 07:32
contenu en anglais (contenu en anglais)
The Maestro Stage Phaser is a vintage pedal that can be used with any electronic instrument. I've only got experience using it with an electric guitar, but I can definitely see it sounding good for a Fender Rhodes and other keyboards, and perhaps even bass guitar. I'm not sure exactly when this pedal was made, but it's definitely an older one, both in look and sound. Although under the Maestro name, this pedal was actually designed by Moog. The make up of the pedal is pretty standard as it has a 1/4" input and output. The parameters that it has are for speed and 'balls', the latter of which is actually controlling the parameter commonly labeled as depth. It also has a switch in the middle for three different variations. Between these setting controls, you've definitely got a good amount to work with. As far as the tone is concerned, it's really quite special, as this pedal definitely has it's own sound to it. It is a very milky sounding phaser that actually has a good amount of grit to it for a phaser. You're definitely going to get a bit more noise than you would with a newer pedal, but for me it's worth it to get the sound. Although these haven't been made for a pretty long time, you can definitely find one used if you're after one, but they're going to cost you a couple of hundred bucks (USD). If you're into vintage pedals like I am, you're definitely going to want to try this pedal out if the opportunity should ever arise. I was lucky enough to have someone bring this in on a session, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten the chance to have heard this pedal in person. Someday when I'm able to I'd love to add this pedal to my collection.
