Utiliser Aksys Windows 7 64bit, c'est possible

Je viens de voir que Windows 7 64bit n'etait pas supporté par Akai pour les Z4 et Z8, ce qui est vraiment, mais vraiment naze de leur part.

Mais bon, en utilisant le Mode XP, a telecharger sur le site de Microsoft, vous pouvez utiliser aksys et installer les pilotes pour votre sampleur.

It is possible to run the ak.sys program with Z series samplers installed if you have Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise. There’s an application called Windows XP mode for Windows 7. It’s a virtual XP environment that allows Akai samplers to be installed like they were in XP. Follow this link to see if your computer qualifies to download the application.

Getting the application onto your Windows 7 machine takes a little work and investigation. You have to download an application called Microsoft® Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool located here

Read the instructions on how to interpret the results of the scan. You may have to change your BIOS settings to have the Virtualization Technology enabled. *edit If you have Windows 7 Home, I am unclear if Home users can make this mod.

Once you’ve determined your computer’s eligibility, download two (2) Windows applications called Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual Machine. Link can be found in the first link in this post.

With the XP Mode program running, plug in the Akai Z sampler and look at the top tab called USB. Click it then click the Akai Z4/Z8 sampler to add it. It will install using the old method in XP where it will allow you to choose a file. Now install the ak.sys program in this environment.

Now follow these instructions (in this sequence) to launch ak.sys in Windows 7:
Open Windows XP mode program
Turn on Akai sampler
In the USB tab click attch Zsampler. (you don't have to reinstall drivers)
Open ak.sys in XP mode environment
Go to Start button in Windows 7. 
Open the ak.sys program under Start -> All programs ->Windows Virtual PC -> Windows XP Applications. 
The virtual XP window will close and will reopen under Windows 7

Now you can run ak.sys with Z samplers inside Windows 7.
