Citation : ERROR 009 - REBOOT?
March 7 2004, 4:29 PM
I just wanted to get back and share the solution to this problem. I resolved it after reviewing the service manual where I got the indication that a blown fuse could be the cause. That is exactly what the problem was. I removed the digital board so that I could get to the fuses. Replaced the F1 (ANALOG) fuse. Since I had the back cover off I decided to use a safety pin and attempt to clean the pin holes of each ribbon cable. Afterward, I put the digital board back in and reconnected the cables and everything worked like a charm. The ASR SCSI interface even recognized the ZIP 100 drive. I immediately use the foramt command and formatted my Iomega Zip 100 SCSI. After it formatted, the system offered the option to copy the O.S. to SCSI. I did indeed select YES. Upon completion of copying O.S. from f;oppy to ZIP drive, I removed the floppy disk and restarted the ASR with only the ZIP drive connected and PRESTO. I saw the yellow flash on the ZIP and jousted for joy when the ASR SCSI interface recognized the ZIP drive and loaded the O.S.
I hope that this will help others who are experiencing the same or a similiar problem.
Reggie
