ALL THE DETAILS
MATERIALS

An extensive list of materials for bodies, necks, and fretboards are offered to ensure your SX is a true one of a kind. The base materials for bodies are; Tasmanian Blackwood, Swamp Ash, Mahogany, with more available as as option. For necks we use Maple, Tasmanian Blackwood, with an extensive list of exotics specific to each run. Fretboard standard materials are Ebony and Rosewood.

DIMENSIONS
The fanned arrangement of the Multiscale fretboard creates scale lengths for each individual string. We generally call this the "spread". For Hypemachiness, the spread is as follows:
Six string: 25.5" or 25.5" - 27.5" Multiscale
Seven string: 27" or 25.5" - 27.8" Multiscale
Eight String: 27" or 25.5" - 28.2" Multiscale
Due to the increased scale length on the bass side, the tension of the strings increases. We recommend you try dropping a gauge on the bottom end, for example, if you usually use 9-46's, try 9-42's.

Bodies are 45mm thick for flat top and carved top guitars, with a 12mm (1/2") deep carve. But, we can go as thin as 38mm and still house push/pull electronics. Being custom made to order, you'll be able to spec it out as you see fit.

FEEL
We designed the SX to feature a huge lower cutaway for fantastic full fret access, to all 24 (29 for Multiscales) frets. With an extended upper horn, expect a well balance neutral feel when standing. The compact body takes a little weight off your shoulder too.

All fretwork is stainless steel, in a variety of sizes, which offers the ultimate in not only feel (it is seriously smooth!), but longevity also. Stainless steel frets tend to last three times longer, giving you piece of mind and confidence that your dream guitar will last a lifetime.

And then there is the scale length... and being a custom, it's YOUR call. 24.75" or 25.5"? Maybe a slightly longer scale, or a baritone even? Multiscale are welcome, of course, as are 6, 7, 8+ strings... and basses too ;)

HARDWARE
For Multiscales, we use bridges that are custom made for us to exacting tolerances. We chose a single string bridge design to allow us to add strings (for sevens and eights) without the development costs of regular hardware. What we found, was that single string bridges had a more open cleaner tone, with each string being able to ring true. Chords sounded clearer and sustained for longer. The vibration of each string influenced each piece of hardware, rather than ALL strings vibrating against one common bridge.

However, a full suite of hardware is available if you prefer you frets nice and straight (regular): Floyd Rose, Kahler, Hipshot, Hannes, Tunomatics (stop tail or string through), Gotoh, and many more.

Sperzel, Hipshot, or Gotoh machineheads are standard, and hardware can be coloured either chrome, black, or gold.

TONE
SX's are able to be built using our unique chambering, which helps not only lower the strapped on weight of the guitar, but increased the mids and gives a more percussive attack to the bottom end. With our standard and custom range of pickups at your disposal, we can shape each SX's tone into whatever you fancy. Of course, chambering is simply an option, and solid bodies are fine too :)

FINISH
Gloss all the way, baby! Maybe satin is what you prefer? A mixture of both? Or our six coat oil system? Graphics? Inlaid bodies (and necks)? Hell, we've built SX models covered in copper, splattered with blood, candy coated swirls, exotic timbers, and much more.

PRICING
SX Customs start at $2890 AUD, with pricing based on your preferred options. There is no upcharge penalty for left handed players. Nice, huh?
