Fiche technique

  • Fabricant : FAMC
  • Modèle : Liquid Router A16
  • Catégorie : Autres Contrôleurs MIDI

The Liquid-Router product line begins with the flexible A-16 model. The A-16 allows the user to select from various modes of use, which currently include (1) Linked switcher mode, (2) autonomous loop mode, (3) active matrix mixer/switching mode.

When used in linked switcher mode, audio inputs and outputs are linked in a chain (or multiple chains for seperate links (think Left and Right). When a loop is activated, it is inserted into the signal path based on a defined order. If a loop is deactivated, it is removed from the signal chain in real-time. This can be thought of as how the basic audio switchers on the market work today (except that almost all of them can't automatically insert and delete routes based on user selection such as the LR-A16 can.

Autonomous loop mode allows each loop ( a defined set of input and output connections) to act independantly of other loops. Perhaps you are using several channels as a simple midi volume control, with each channel acting independantly of all others. This mode allows you to have total control of each channel without any effect to other channels regardless of what parameters or routing you make.

Active Matrix Mixer/Switching mode gives each of your presets total control of the full 16 channels of inputs and outputs. create serial, looped, or parallel routing patters, control trim and gain for each channel, and so much more. This mode gives total flexibility and creativity to mix, and manipulate your effects. Presets begin with a pre-defined setup, but also enables and disabled or modifies any of the parameters or routing in real-time. Channels can even have cross-linked expression pedal control- so one channel can increase trim or gain, while another channel is cross-faded to lose gain or trim at the same time. The combination of real-time control along with soft or hard switching of presets enables endless possibilities of audio signal mixing and switching control.

All input channels are compatible with balanced audio inputs. Channels 7 through 14 are both unbalanced (using TS cable) and balanced outputs (when using TRS cable).

- Interface

The front panel of the A16 Router includes 16 illuminated buttons for quick and easy access to all major functions. Each button can illuminate Red, Green, or Orange to indicate it's various states and functions. The user interface enables live channel control as well as alternate function control by a quick press of multiple buttons together. A legend clearly above and below each button will indicate which channel it controls, or which functional group it will access.

- Special Channels 1, 2, 3 and 7

Input channels 1 (front and/or rear panel input), 2 and 7 are designed for Low or Hi-Z inputs. Presets can individual program the use of unbuffered outputs from Chan 1 to Chan 2 output, or Chan 2 input to Chan 3 output. Chan 1 and Chan 2 inputs can also be tied together unbuffered. This allows for very flexible routing of audio signals (perhaps guitar effect such as wah needs an unbuffered input).

Hi-Z inputs are both buffered and unbuffered based on programming. Chan 1, 2 and 7 inputs can be routed to both buffered and unbuffered channels at the same time without loss of signal.

- Trim, Gain and Balanced In/Out

Input channels 3-16 are trim controllable at preset level. Input trim is controlled by DB on a LOG scale. Output channels 7-14 are Gain controllable from near mute to 2x output signal. Linked input/outputs allow for full control from mute to 2x output to act as a single mixer channel (such as a volume control feature).

All channel trim/gain/linked volume controls are live midi controllable.

- Chan switch, expansion, USB and MIDI

An 8 pin DIN interface gives access to 4 fully isolated AMP switching, or signal processing channels. Each of the 4 channels are programmable at the preset level- or live via midi. Each channel can be used as latch, momentary, or programmable cycling (for control of devices like SDD-3000 or similar).

2 expansion ports are compatible with all LF+ midi controllers and will provide power and MIDI IN/OUT processing. LR products will act as a midi merge and allow LF+ controllers to access a MIDI rig through the Liquid Router.

USB port is available for use with a software editor available for both Mac and PC.

Midi ports allow phantom power, as well as midi-thru and standard midi IN and OUT functions.
