The Potbelly guitar is a guitar that ESP keeps on the overseas market. It's more of a PRS/Gibson style clone than anything else. It's meant for that thicker tone. The guitar features a mahogany body with a flame maple top, a mahogany set-in neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 jumbo frets, dot inlays, a hard tail bridge, two humbuckers, one volume, one tone and a three way switch. I rated it down slightly because I'm not a huge fan of the overall shape itself, but it's more of a personal opinion than anything else.

UTILIZATION

The fretwork on this was top notch, without a doubt. The neck itself was broken in nicely, and it was like playing on a well worn guitar. The ends themselves were rounded perfectly, so there were no issues in that aspect. The nut was also cut perfectly. I didn't experience any of the standard tuning issues that Gibsons seem to be so prone of. The flame on this was very tight, and it really popped, even with this brown finish. The bookmatching was also great. The only complaint I have is that it's a hard tail model, but I'm more of a floyd guy.

SOUNDS

This guitar had some Crunch Lab pickups installed in it. They're custom made by ESP themselves, and they're similar to the Duncans that normally come in these guitars. The bridge was sort of like an old school 59. It has that super fat and bubbly sound going on, but it was also high enough output to do metal without any problems at all. The neck was also like a 59, and you got a super fat neck tone with this thing. I really liked the neck for cleans and leads, and I loved the bridge for those super thick rhythm tones. It's a very versatile guitar considering that it only has two pickups.

OVERALL OPINION

If you're looking for some sort of PRS or Gibson alternative, this is worth checking out. It has that fatness that the Gibson and PRS guitars tend to have, but it has way better quality control and overall construction than them. It's more consistent, and it sounds great.

La guitare est une guitare Potbelly que l'ESP maintient sur le marché étranger. Il s'agit plus d'un clone de style PRS / Gibson qu'autre chose. C'est fait pour ça épais ton. La guitare possède un corps en acajou avec une table en érable flamme, un acajou mis en cou avec une touche palissandre, 22 frettes jumbo, dot inlays, un pont arrière dur, deux humbuckers, un volume, une tonalité et un commutateur à trois voies. Je l'ai noté une légère baisse, parce que je ne suis pas un grand fan de la forme globale en soi, mais il s'agit plus d'une opinion personnelle qu'autre chose.

UTILISATION

Le chantournage sur ce était top, sans aucun doute. Le cou lui-même était brisé en bien, et c'était comme jouer sur une guitare bien usés. Les extrémités étaient eux-mêmes arrondis parfaitement, il n'y avait donc aucun problème dans cet aspect. L'écrou a aussi été coupé à la perfection. Je n'ai pas d'expérience aucune des questions que l'accordage standard Gibsons semblent être si enclins d'. La flamme sur ce a été très serré, et il a vraiment éclaté, même avec cette finition marron. Le bookmatching été aussi grand. La seule plainte que j'ai est que c'est un modèle queue dure, mais je suis plus un gars Floyd.

SONORITÉS

Cette guitare a quelques micros Lab Crunch installé en elle. Ils sont fabriqués sur mesure par ESP eux-mêmes, et ils sont similaires aux Duncans qui entrent normalement dans ces guitares. Le pont a été un peu comme une vieille école 59. Il a ce super son de graisse et pétillante se passe, mais il était également élevé de sortie assez à faire de métal sans aucun problème du tout. Le cou était aussi comme un 59, et vous avez obtenu un ton cou super-graisse avec cette chose. J'ai vraiment aimé le cou pour nettoyer et conduit, et j'ai adoré le pont pour ceux tons ultra rythme d'épaisseur. C'est une guitare très polyvalente en considérant qu'il n'a que deux micros.

AVIS GLOBAL

Si vous êtes à la recherche d'une certaine sorte de PRS ou Gibson alternative, c'est la peine de vérifier. Il a ce que le gras des guitares Gibson et PRS ont tendance à avoir, mais il a le contrôle de qualité bien meilleure et la construction globale d'eux. C'est plus cohérent, et il semble grand.
