    Blanc Acier

    Fender American Standard Stratocaster [2008-2012]Publié le 29/11/11 à 23:57
contenu en anglais (contenu en anglais)
The Fender Stratocaster is probably my favorite instrument that is there been created. I love the way this thing feels and sits on your shoulder get star strap around your neck. It has a nice balance and weight to it and the overall tone is very inviting for any style of music that I might be into for the week. Since there's a lot of musical styles and sounds out there if one all-encompassing guitar can be hard to fine. I think this guitar does it quite well because it's extremely versatile and can play pretty much any style of music.

    SOUNDS

The Fender Stratocaster has a great sound for country all the way up to hard rock music. It doesn't sound that great any drop tuning setting but even still it just has a very inviting and creative sounding to it. Whether you use this with the fender clean amplifier or high gain amplifier such as a Bogner or Mesa boogie this guitars can give you exactly what you give it. It's a solid tone and a great feel and it will match your guitar rig or your effects quite nicely. Overall it's a solid sounding instrument from the feel and the tone is right there for any guitar player.

    OVERALL OPINION

You can find these guitars pretty much anywhere you find musical instruments whether that be online or any guitar shop such as Sam Ash for Guitar Center. They're very easy to find and the price point is very nice as well. You can find these guitars right around thousand dollars or so depending on features and whatnot. The great sounding US built instrument that is fantastic for gigging or recording.

The Fender Stratocaster has got to be the best sounding instrument that is ever been created in my opinion. I'm pretty partial to these guitars because they have such a great sound and solid sound for pretty much any music that I played personally. To feel the balance and the weight of the instrument is very conducive to your way I approach the guitar as well. I'm also into Gibson Les Paul guitars but there's just something about that Fender Stratocaster that makes me enjoy playing that much more.

    SOUNDS

If you've ever heard Jimi Hendrix and you know exactly what to tell you to get from a Fender Stratocaster. It's can be a nice clean sounding tone compared to to a mahogany wood based guitar with hum buckers such as most Gibson guitars . You are going to get a nice thick susstain that's going to be very conducive and extremely versatile to any style of music that you put it in. It's not could be as thick as you would a Gibson Les Paul guitar this could have a natural sustain that is very pleased to the ears. No matter what amplifier, a effects, or rig that you have this guitar will sound fantastic in all settings.

    OVERALL OPINION

You can find a Fender Stratocaster pretty much anywhere you find musical instruments being sold in any online retailer and most regular music shops will sell Fender Stratocaster. Many come in different size shapes and next but overall the natural feel in town is universal. The usually hang around $100 or so which is a great price point for an American built guitar.

The Fender Stratocasters are one of those iconic guitars that is basically stood the test of time. It's a great feeling guitar and the sound of it is all to its own. Even though there's been slight modifications and different evolutions of the Fender Strat, the style and the feel and the tone has still pretty much remain the same. It's a great classic rock bluesy guitar that is extremely versatile from genre genre of music. I do appreciate the Siena burst on this guitar because you can see the wood grain through the transparent paint job.

    SOUNDS

The tone of the Fender Strat is a nice crisp focus tone that sounds perfect whether it be a clean amplifier or a high again rocking amplifier. Whatever effects or controls that you might use will work well with this is axe just as well. I really like the tone of the neck pick up in the Fender Stratocaster because it has a nice warm bluesy tone that just encompasses the entire style and feel of this guitar. Sure the other two pickups sounds great on the own and work in many applications as well but no other guitar can match the sound and the feel of the neck pick up in a Fender Stratocaster guitar. Overall this is a brilliant instrument and I recommended to any guitarist out there.

    OVERALL OPINION

You can find these guitars pretty much anywhere you by musical instruments. Any online retailer or normal guitar shop will carry Fender Stratocaster. Some of them vary from neck to neck depending on the years or the reissues, so just trying out a few to see which neck feel you prefer. These guitars are American built and they usually hover around anywhere between $1000 to about $1600 depending on the features and whether or not it's a signature model.

    SOUNDS

When you couple this guitar with a nice solid clean amplifier such as a Fender twin reverb Fender deluxe amplifier then your are going to get very soulful tone that sparkles in chimes very nicely. These guitars take effects pedals modulation in other sorts of rack effects very well. It really allows the user to use their own dynamics feeling tone and just really complements the playing. If you use this with guitar with a nice high gain amplifier such as a Marshall or Mesa boogie then you're going to get a great solid sick tone that will be great for hard rock all the way up to metal styles of music. There's not much this guitar can't do and that is why it's been probably the most popular instrument and all of music. The ash wood will give you a brighter tone that will sound much more different than an alder wood. The tone will be brighter and have a bit more spring in the voicing.

    OVERALL OPINION

You can find guitars very easily and commonly pretty much anywhere you find music gear related stores. Their online and you can easily find them in the use classified sections on many forms or even on craigslist or eBay. Theatre trade instruments and they provide a wealth of tone and feel for the user. You can find them for right around $1000 or so on the new market but I suggest trying a few out to find out which neck feel you really like in the color that complements your taste.

The Fender Telecaster is an iconic guitar that just resonates with brilliant sounding quality. It's a perfectly well balanced instrument that has seen little to no changes since his original production. They've been a few tweaks, bells, and whistles but overall the balance feel and look of this instrument has pretty much remain in tact. It's a simple design with the volume control knob and two tone control knobs. You get three single coil pick ups in the tremolo bridge system. It's fairly easy to use and sound in town is just fantastic.

    SOUNDS

These guitar sound great in any application they put them in whether that be a clean setting or a high gain hard rock setting. No matter where you stick this guitar in front of it will bring your existing gear to life. It really adds a great feel and tone to a clean amplifier with its nice bluesy rock tone. It has a great sustain an overall great feel with its light alder body wood and rosewood fretboard. It just sounds perfect and you has to write frequencies and balance that makes playing enjoyable. If you have a plethora of effects pedals or rack units, or you just are playing your guitar straight into the amplifier, it's going to give you a nice clarity and note separation but also bring a solid tone and sustain to your guitar rig.

    OVERALL OPINION

You can find these guitars anywhere you look for instruments whether that be online or any retailer around the world. This is probably the most versatile and easily recognizable guitar and one of the most used guitars in the world. You can find a guitar for right around thousand dollars or so and they make great guitars for gigging or recording.

    UTILIZATION

Its a strat, you get what you get. It is easy to get at the top frets and really gets a great sound simply, its a plug and play guitar, very much a standard in the guitar industry

    SOUNDS

I really enjoy this guitar and I don't even like strats that much, its a very simple guitar to use. I've used it with a bunch of amps but mainly with a laney GH50L, it does great RHCP type sounds and I totally recommend it for that, it even does some ok distorted sounds, but the SSS configuration kind of screws it over there. The cleans and slightly OD'd tones are definitely my favorite thing, and it does great "bell" type tones with a AC15 and a great grind with more marshall style amps.

I feel like this really isn't meant for anything overly distorted though, so don't go buy it if you want to play anything over classic rock really. Unless you plan on changing pickups.

    OVERALL OPINION

My least favorite thing about this guitar is by far the pickups, I find them too noisy and thats why I don't own single coil guitars anymore really minus a different strat. Other than that I found it to be a very well crafted good looking guitar, I think the action was a little high out of the box, but that was fixed easily and some people may like it higher. I think its a bit overpriced and I'd personally never buy it new, but overall its a great sounding guitar and I'd highly recommend it to people looking for cleans and lightly driven sounds.

    Fender American Standard Stratocaster [2008-2012]Publié le 30/03/11 à 08:16

The day I switched from playing an acoustic to an electric I took a trip to Guitar Center to see what they had. Through all the garbage they have hanging on their wall this beautiful sun burst Strat which was calling out to me. I took it off the wall and felt the neck which was amazing. The previous owner has taken off the lacker finish on the neck and it was just an oiled finish. It was so smooth and comfortable which sometimes can be a hit or miss with Strats. It felt like a guitar that had some play on it and it just formed into your hand. Much like the new Charvels it feels as though it gets better the more you play it.

This one has an Ash body and a Maple neck. I took out the pickups since the neck pickup died. So I went with some Dimarzios which are ok, but not great. I think I would want to try some Seymour's in there next time if I get around to switching.

    UTILIZATION

The guitar is easy as pie. It has three controls knobs consisting of one volume and two tone knobs. One of them I don't use ever. I do roll off some of the highs with the back tone knob. I think it helps bring them down in this guitar. I heard another guitar player does this and it helped in his guitar and I have always complained about how bright the guitar can be. So rolling down the tone a by to around 6 or 7 helps quite a bit.

    SOUNDS

When it comes to the sound of a Strat there really is no other. I hear guys talk about finding a Strat sounding guitar and look to Suhr and Anderson and completely bypass the sound that started it all. The sound is everyone from Jimmy to John Mayor and in between.

I use this guitar with an assortment of amps and cabs. Today I was jamming it with my Splawn Quickrod and vintage Marshall 4x12 with Blackback Celestion speakers. I had such a great tone coming from this setup. I love the tonal possibilities I get with this combination. It sounds so choice when I slap a Wampler Analog echo in the effects loop.

I play rock music and this guitar is great for my style. I love Charvels and will probably put this guitar down when I get one of those. I prefer humbuckers to the single coils.

    OVERALL OPINION

This a guitar that I will have forever. Since it was my first guitar and very special to me I will never let it go. This guitar has such a great tone and feel that is hard to find sometimes. The neck is comfortable and just rips. My hands glide with easy with the bare oiled neck. If I ever buy another Fender Strat I will have someone take off the lacker on the back of the neck.

I would recommend this guitar to any guitar player. Everyone needs a Fender Strat in their arsenal. A great everyday guitar and a players dream. So many tonal possibilities that will accompany anything musical genre from pop to modern rock.

    American Standard Démarrer

    Fender American Standard Stratocaster [2008-2012]Publié le 26/04/11 à 02:01
contenu en anglais (contenu en anglais)
The Fender American Strat is one of the most well known higher end strats in the Fender lineup. it has the standard alder body, maple neck (this one had a maple fretboard too), SSS configuration, two point tremolo, special neck joint with micro tilt adjustment, 22 frets and extremely nice rolled edges on the neck.

    UTILIZATION

In other reviews, I mentioned a complaint about the 9.5'' radius. It's not for me, but it works for most people. This guitar has the same issue, but again, it's personal preference. The two point trem on this is very nice, and it stays in tune nicely. One of my favorite features on this guitar is the nicely rolled edges of the fretboard. This makes it feel very broken in and not nearly as sharp as some other instruments tend to be. MIA fretwork is usually pretty good, but it can be hit or miss depending on the day it was built, how the luthiers were feeling, etc. I'm also glad this instrument has 22 frets instead of the 21 that is featured throughout most (if not all) of the MIM line. The neck is a very comfortable medium-esque C shaped neck that seems to be actually somewhat similar to an ESP neck at times.

    SOUNDS

The pickups on this guitar are pretty good. They get that great vowely tone that single coils are known for, have a great quack, sound very nice with clean, mid gain and even high gain tones. That said, I still usually replace these with aftermarket pickups. My favorite singles at the moment are most likely the DiMarzio Area series, and they really make this guitar come alive.

    OVERALL OPINION

If you're in the market for a strat, this is the model you should check out. It can be had for a great price used, and they're fairly solid guitars. That said, you should really play before you buy as Fenders can be hit or miss with fretwork.

    La Stratocaster standard

    Fender American Standard Stratocaster [2008-2012]Publié le 02/06/11 à 20:30
contenu en anglais (contenu en anglais)
The Stratocaster is an icon in the world of guitar design. It was designed by Leo Fender in the mid 50s as an evolution of the Telecaster. It has a classic double cutaway design with an extended top horn for better balance. It has a contoured alder body with a pickguard where all the electronics are attached. The stratocaster has tree single coil pickups and they are selected with a 5 way blade switch. The position most rearward on the switch selects the bridge position pickup. The next position right selects the bridge and the middle pickups. The middle position on the pickup selector selects the middle pickup on the guitar. The next position selects the middle pickup and the neck pickup. And the selector position closest to the neck selects the neck pickup. The neck is a maple neck with a maple fretboard and 22 jumbo frets. The neck is not too thick and not too thin. The headstock is the iconic Fender shaped headstock with 6 tuners in a line. The bridge of the guitar is the well known Fender tremolo system which is the weakest part of the guitar.

    UTILIZATION

The strat shape is very comfortable. The contours on the body are perfect. This model has the rolled fret edges with make the neck comfortable as well. Some Fender Strats have a lot of gloss on the back of the neck which makes the neck sticky and hard to play on. The finish on the back of the neck on this guitar is just right. It has the dark color like a vintage strat without the sticky feel. Many guitarists do not like the large neck join that is on stratocasters. The neck is attached with four bolts in a large square joint. For some people this large square block may get in the way of their playing on the high frets. The radius on the fretboard is no super flat so you can still do large chords without hurting your hand. The American Standard Stratocaster incorporates bent steel Fender saddles. The original vintage-style Fender bent steel adjustable saddle is one of the components that give vintage Fenders their unique tone. Then Fender improved them, narrowing the spacing to afford more room (and complement the bigger frets and rolled edges), and also elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, while improving the string break angle over the primary contact point. The screws on the bridge can sometimes be sharp and get into your hand. The tone block is a special alloy that is blended with copper and is 100% homogeneous so it will produce a better tone.

    SOUNDS

Fender Stratocasters are known for their twangy sound. This guitar is no different. The bridge pickup gives a twangy bassy sound that you will instantly recognize. When you combine the bridge and the middle pickups the two pickups cancel out each others noise. So in this position the guitar is quieter plus it has its own tone. The neck and the middle pickup also have the same feature. When you combine them the pickups cancel out each other noise. The neck pickup is great for solos and chord playing. For me single coil pickups are better suited for clean playing or low gain playing. With a high gain metal sound the pickups will be very noisy and will have a good tone. Under high gain single coils sound harsh and tinny. With a clean tone they sound great and have a good amount of clarity. With a clean tone a good single coil will get you a bell like tone. Single coil pickups because of their design will pickup back ground noise. They are not naturally hum cancelling like humbuckers are. Over the years Fender has made the pickups quieter and quieter but they can never be totally quiet like humbuckers with the design they have.

    OVERALL OPINION

The Fender Strat is an icon in the guitar industry. It has been played for over 50 years by countless famous guitar players. Its classic design and tone means it will always be a benchmark in the guitar world. With its twang and bell like tone it will always find a place in music somewhere. If you are looking for a good solid guitar for country or light rock you can get the Fender American Standard Stratocaster. Once you start playing a stratocaster you join the group of many famous guitar players who have made their living with a strat in their hands.

This guitar will work in any environment. They sound good with Fender amps and they sound goo with Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers as well as they sound with any Marshall. They sound just flat out amazing to me. The tone of these guitars do not change from any other Fender Stratocaster that anyone has ever played. If you have played one American Fender Stratocaster than you know exactly how one sounds. There isn't too much variation of tone between Strats. They either sound like a Strat or they sound like a Strat. You can tell the difference in a Gibson Les Paul, a Fender Telecaster, and Fender Stratocaster. They each have their won tone and sound that uniquely their own.

    OVERALL OPINION

At new these guitars come in right at around $999, which is a great price for an American made fender or any other American made guitar. This is a classic piece and an instrument that will last a lifetime of joy. You can pick these up just about anywhere Fender guitars are sold. These come in used about $700 which they hold their value quite well on the used market.

I prefer to play a Marshall style amp with a Fender Straocaster. It sounds great as a nice blues guitar and gets those neck pickup tone with a great. These guitars have so much style and flare. I like to play blues with these guitars but that is just what naturally come out when I pick up one of these instruments.

First off this is one of my favorite looking Strats that Fender has come out with. I might be partial to this guitar because one of my best buddies owns this very guitar. So I have spend a lot of time with it. Other than my first STrat I have ever bought this one is my favorite piece that I have ever played.

This is the Sienna color sunburst on this guitar. It is a transparent color that you can actually see the wood grain through the paint. This is a very cool and artistic treatment to this guitar. SOUNDS

Every Fender Stratocaster I have ever played needed the pickups replaced. So for every Fender Strat out there you are going to have to replace the pickups. It amazes me that someone like Fender who have build some of the world best guitars and amps completely and utterly fail at making pickups. Its not only Fender but Gibson pickups suck as well. Their pickups have to be the most horrible garbage sounding pickups in the world. I'm sure that someone out there has topped them but their pickups are just trash.

Any old amp will do with this guitar. I like all Strats with a good old Fender amp. I also play them with a Marshall amp but this one in particular I have played with a PEavey CLassic 50. OK amp not for me but the guitar shines through that amp though. This guitar will also work for any style of music except most of the drop tuning stuff. You won't be able to get a deep thick fat metal tone from this guitar. Any of you are into that kind of music you already know that. Other than that it will suit most players just fine.

    OVERALL OPINION

AT new you can find these amps for right at around $1150, that is a bit of an up charge for this sunburst sienna color. a little bit more time involved getting this thing to look this way so there is an extra charge. Well worth it if you dig this color combination with the maple fretboard.

The Fender Strat could be the best guitar that has ever been created. Not a fan of three single coils as I am some humbuckers but this is a gem of an instrument. Fender is the kind of the single and yet classic looking guitars. The Stratocatser in one of the most iconic guitar that this world has ever known. Second and third would probably be the Fender Telecatser and the Gibson Les Paul. There is a soul and tone that comes from this guitar that no other guitar can match. It is silky and resonant which just a hint of aggression.

This guitar is a Sienna sunburst with a rosewood fretboard. The sienna sunburst is very cool and one of my favorite colors on this guitar but I don't think it matches the rosewood as much as the maple. I like the rosewood on the traditional 3 tone sunburst but not with the sienna. It is too dark with this transparent job.

    SOUNDS

The first thing is that this guitar is built to rock. Their is a soul that not another guitar can capture like this instrument. I would have to replace the pickups in these guitars because Fender pickups are just terrible. They are worse than Gibson pickups and those sound like garbage. Other than that the guitar is a true gem to be played.

This guitar sound great in any amps mix. No matter what your amp is or what set of preamp tubes or power tubes you have this guitar will just sound excellent. You get a great tone out of a Fender amp and will get you those classic vibe cleans sounds. If you play with a Marshall plexi style amp just get a Big Muff fuzz box and you will be killing it with some Jimi Hendrix tones.

    OVERALL OPINION

At new you can pick these guitars up for right around $1149, which is a great price for an American made guitar. There is a bit of an up charge on this sienna burst over the other models since there is a little more work involved with this paint job. This is classic guitar and meant to be cherished and played. You can abuse these guitars and they will stay true to you. I highly recommend everyone to own at least one Fender Stratocaster at least some point in your life. Everyone deserves a little soul.

    Oohh La La

    Fender American Standard Stratocaster [2008-2012]Publié le 02/08/11 à 20:45

This is a cool looking guitar to say the least. The pearl is almost a metallic look or even a gray color. A very elegant look to a classic guitar. This is one of the most distinguishable guitars that has ever been build. This guitar has such a look and allure that can only be rock n roll and only Fender. I like the pearl look but I think it would look a little better in combination with an all maple neck and fretboard. I think that look would match better to this pearl color.

    SOUNDS

This particular one has a nice body paint on it that you don't always see around. This guitar will work in any environment. They sound good with fender amps and they sound goo with Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers as well as they sound with any Marshall. They sound just flat out amazing to me.

The tone of this guitar is exquisite. These guitars do not change from any other Fender Stratocaster that anyone has ever played. The tone of this guitar is just one of a kind. Something to be said about the original and you can get boutique all you want but the Fender Strat is still a staple in rock music. You can find these guitars played by some of the most famous musicians around the world. Everyone and their grandmother seems to have played this guitar at one time or another.
