    Pioneer RT-1020LPublié le 04/10/11 à 04:09

The Pioneer RT-1020L is a reel to reel 1/4" tape machine for playing and recording. It can play either 7" or 10" reels. My parents owned this and I have since taken it under my wing to use and mess around with. While I've got a Pro Tools studio at home, I thought this would be cool to mess around with and perhaps provide some cool effects. While mine isn't in top shape and does need a bit of work, it's a very cool machine. It's basically a four track machine with two stereo tracks to record with. It's got two 1/4" inputs and a variety of controls for setting what speed and tape size you're using. While my parents have a bunch of reels to listen to on this, my interest with the Pioneer RT-1020L comes for recording with it. I've done a bunch with it and it sounds cool, although a bit noisy as it's tape. I'm planning on also using it for getting some slapback delay and other effects, but I haven't hooked it up properly for this yet since it's noisy and needs a cleaning. I don't know if it's worth buying one of these since not too many people are using reel to reels, but if you have an old one or are interested in messing around with a reel to reel for effects or recording, the RT-1020L is a great model. At one point I tried to sell it since there wasn't space for it, but it didn't seem to be worth very much so we decided to keep it instead. I'm glad I did as it's a fun machine that has a lot to offer in a reel to reel and hopefully in the near future I can get some effects happening with it in my studio!
