    trop cher pour de l'argent

Paul Reed Smith guitars are really known for their exotic and beautiful instruments. They make some of the most recognizable and gorgeous guitars in the world. They have been featured on pretty much any stage in all arenas around the world. You seen the likes of country players all the way up to drop tuning metal players use these instruments. What Paul Reed Smith is not quite as known for his amplifiers. Many of their amplifiers will give you a beautiful surprise. They're usually not an in-your-face modern high gain tone. However this one is just that.

    SOUNDS

This is basically Paul Reed Smith's modern take on the new types of high gain distortion amplifiers. This is a two channel 6L6 power to based amplifier. It also features nice sounding boutique put in power transformers. One cool feature on this amplifier where you would see in many and pretty much all Mesa boogie amplifiers is that it has a fixed bias. What this means is a you can swap in and out 6L6 power tubes and never have to take it to an amp technician to get it serviced. You can try out different manufacturers tubes to your liking and figure out which one suits your playing needs the best. This is a cool little amplifier but if someone's into the high gain sound you're probably not going to look towards Paul Reed Smith. This is a fun amplifier but I would suggest going elsewhere to get your high gain needs.

    OVERALL OPINION

I knew you can find these amplifiers for right around $1500 that is not that bad of a price for a good two channel modern 50 W tube amplifier. I think the asking price for this Paul Reed Smith amplifier is great because it is a competitive priced amplifier compared to Marshall or orange amplifiers and give you some boutique and proper modern features.

Paul Reed Smith guitars is very well known for their exotic beautiful and exquisite instruments. They have a great feel and a great tone that is very versatile from music to music. They're not quite as known for their amplifiers as much is a guitars but they do make some good medium gain to clean style amplifiers. These amps have two channels that features two 6L6 power tubes. Another great feature is it features Haeyboer out put Transformers. These are great boutique transformers that really make the sound prominent and thickening.

    SOUNDS

The tone of this amplifier is very good. It's not quite a high gain amplifier but can get you a complete tone which accepts effects pedals very well. There's not a whole lot of controls and switches and different bells and whistles on this amplifier , but it has just enough for you to get a great solid tone night after night of gigging or even in the recording studio. They basically have two channels one for the clean and one for the lead master gain channel. You have your standard EQ settings but you also have a bright switch for each channel and a global reverb for both channels. This is very simple design but a great sound for a basic sound.

    OVERALL OPINION

You can find these amplifiers for right around $1500 which is a good price for Paul Reed Smith amplifier. It's a little unusual look cosmetically but it's a great sound great feel. If you're into the country rockin blues pop sound and this is a good amplifier for you.

    UTILISATION

    AVIS GLOBAL

J'aime bien cet ampli.

    UTILIZATION

It is very easy to get a good sound out of this amp. The cleans are very present and transparent, and the dirties have just the right amount of fur on them. Dialing in "the sound" takes a bit longer, as the controls are all extremely interactive - moving the mid a few degrees in one direction, for example, changes how the treble interacts.

Manual is non-existent, literally - I asked PRS about it, and they said none was ever printed, but that they would put one online eventually. I decided to email Doug Sewell (the amp's designer) directly, and he responded right away with some recommended settings.

    SOUNDS

This amp can get anything from clean Chet Atkins to firebreathing Metallica. The 2 channels sound great in their respective areas - clean is great with clean, dirty is great with dirty, but either channel can run either type of sound. If I dial in a dirty tone on the clean channel, it sounds grittier, yet not as gainy - nice smooth overdrive sound. And dialing in a clean sound on the dirty channel provided an interesting "roundness" to each note.

The reverb is divine, and the effects loop was very transparent as well.

    OVERALL OPINION

I like this amp. It seems very durable, and the fact that the amp's designer would take time out to email me was a plus. The sound quality is great - I don't know what more anyone would want! About the only things this amp couldn't feasibly do is death metal or "djent", but I'm sure with enough tweaking, that would be in the realm of possibility.

I think it could use a few adjustments - namely a manual! Also, footswitchable effects loop on/off would be a nice bonus. I think overall, the amp is a nice entry into the USA-made boutique market.
