http://www.kritz.com/engels/inventions/stripm.jpg

Citation :
-The inked imprint of the underside of the forefinger
(see drawing), shows that the most accurate pressing on the fingerboard causes a curve (Smilefret (TM)) instead of a straight line (normal fret).
It is evident that the Smilefrets (TM) provide you a closer more accurate forefinger imprint to play "barré" chords.
-More space (diagonally) between two frets = easier/cleaner chord playing.
-Easier bend-up's in both directions: up to 5 semitones.
-Easier feeling on the fingerboard because the arched frets follow the natural finger movements.
-More space for soloing and for chords, even on the highest part of
the fingerboard.
-The only guitar on which you can play pure and perfect chords above
the 12th fret.
-Easier bottlenecking, due to the angle (5° or 10°) of the frets under
the G-B-E strings.
-Intonation compensation (K.I.C.) for sweeter high-end sounds
Even the fretslots are NC-milled and have no empty spaces under the fret wire.
This generates a more solid fingerboard which results in more sustain.

Il suffit de demander... et de traduire!

Merci Zek pour ce nouveau filon! :bravo2:

Citation : intonation:
New, accurate calculation of the Smilefret (TM) positions results in an incredibly pure, open string sound. Our ears hear higher notes less high than they really are.
Due to this, piano's (they have a lot of octaves) are tuned with a (logarithmic accumulated) higher upper part. Of course your guitar needs exactly the same adjustment to sound "in tune" with any keyboard. A special bridge fine saddle adjustment adapts the guitar and makes it sound in tune with any keyboard in the highest fretpositions.
The lower Smilefret (TM) positions are calculated in such a way that the player obtains an equal tone balance between open and the depressed strings. It's so nice to hear it! You won't believe your ears.

Smilefrets

  • The inked imprint of the underside of the forefinger (see drawing), shows that the most accurate pressing on the fingerboard causes a curve (Smilefret (TM)) instead of a straight line (normal fret). It is evident that the Smilefrets (TM) provide you a closer more accurate forefinger imprint to play "barré" chords.
  • More space (diagonally) between two frets = easier/cleaner chord playing.
  • Easier bend-up's in both directions: up to 5 semitones.
  • Easier feeling on the fingerboard because the arched frets follow the natural finger movements.
  • More space for soloing and for chords, even on the highest part of the fingerboard.
  • The only guitar on which you can play pure and perfect chords above the 12th fret.

  • Easier bottlenecking, due to the angle (5° or 10°) of the frets under the G-B-E strings.
  • Intonation compensation (K.I.C.) for sweeter high-end sounds
  • Even the fretslots are NC-milled and have no empty spaces under the fret wire.
  • This generates a more solid fingerboard which results in more sustain.

  • The Smilefrets (TM) are available in 5° or 10°. This is the angle between a Smilefret (TM) and a straight fret at the fingerboard border. You only need a few minutes to get used to the difference between Smile- and straight frets.
