    Guyatone TD-X Tube EchoPublié le 24/07/10 à 08:27
contenu en anglais (contenu en anglais)
The Guyatone "Flip" Tube Echo is a guitar effects pedal that it suitable really with any electronic instrument. It is a hybrid digital delay and tube pedal, which is interesting enough to start. It's got a real tube inside of it, which gives it a lot of character. The pedal has 1/4" connections for your input and for both a dry and wet output. It requires a 12 volt power supply, which is included with the pedal when you buy it new. The Flip Tube Echo also has true bypass. It isn't rack mountable in any way as it's a stomp box.

    UTILIZATION

The make up of the Guyatone Tube Echo pedal is fairly simple. The parameters that it has are for effect level, feedback, delay time, which also has a switch for setting it to either long, medium, or short, and for analog simulation and tape simulation. The latter two parameters will take a bit of getting used to just in terms of getting a feel for what they will do exactly, but beyond this the pedal is pretty much self explanatory. A manual won't be necessary with this pedal unless you're an absolute beginner.

    SOUND QUALITY

The Guyatone Tube Echo is a very balanced pedal with an awesome general sound. There are plenty of options here to get all different types of delay sounds. I have only used this pedal on one session where I was the engineer and not the player, as a client brought the pedal in. I was really impressed with the depth and overall character of the pedal, and especially was surprised to hear that it was a hybrid pedal after I heard it, as it definitely has the warmth and body you'll get with an analog piece of gear. I like this pedal best for it's more slap back kind of sounds, but it's definitely capable of getting long trailing delays as well...

    OVERALL OPINION

Overall, the Guyatone Tube Echo is a really complete tube delay pedal. While more expensive than most pedals out there, this is about the price you're going to pay for a top notch pedal like this one. I really love the warmth you get from the tube, paired up with it's versatility in terms of it's general parameters and both the analog and tube emulation parameters. If you're a professional or a well experienced player looking for a great delay pedal, do yourself a favor and try out the Guyatone "Flip" Tube Echo!
