* HiFi
* Analogue
* Tape Echo
* Multi Tap
* Reverse
* Modulation Filter Controls include Delay Mode, Delay Time, Feedback and Level
There's also 2 outs, one is just a regular true bypass out, the other is one that allows for spillover, how cool is that?
Aside from that there's also another jack you can use to externally hook up a momentary switch to do external tap tempo.
This is a nice delay pedal offered by marshall and I bought it used. I also saw at some points in time that musiciansfriend or some site like that was blowing them out for less than $30! I missed that! They're great!
I heard they were discontinued? Not too sure about that, but if they are, that sucks!
UTILIZATION
Pretty simple to use, there are different types of delay effects, each of which is controllable from the rest of the controls. One delay effect at a time can be used and adjusted of course.
Having an external tap tempo hooked up is always a good thing. I always hook it up through the spillover output, spillover is just so much more organic to me.
The manual is simple and clear though not necessarily needed I think.
SOUND QUALITY
Sounds great!!! Especially the tape echo emulation! This one of the only few pedals available that are under $100 and have a pretty good tape echo emulation I'd say.
The rest of the delay sounds are good too, I often use the hi fi and analog settings, and toy a lot with the multi and reverse functions. The modulation I'm not a big fan of but that's just me.
I've gigged with this loads of times and it's always sounded quite good, ran it out in front all the time with the spillover. Used it mainly for cleans or for making noise with the knobs maxed and distortion set all over the place! It was great!
OVERALL OPINION
Very cool delay pedal with great sounds and a good tape echo sound at under $100. With spillover, and the option to hook up an external tap tempo. What more does anybody really need? Maybe presets but aside from that the echohead is the most bang for buck delay pedal I've ever had!
It suited me for all my delay needs especially once I had the external tap tempo goin on, I was able to get it to do nearly anything on the fly! I've gigged with it a bunch of times too and it has never failed me either! Build quality is good too!
