Here's a superb Greco Les Paul Goldtop. I bought it in Japan. According to the seller, who was very familiar with this Japanese brand, it likely dates from 1975 or 1976. He was able to say this because of the very first logo of the brand (see the small circle on the "R"). Furthermore, guitars produced in the very early years didn't have serial numbers. You can verify all of this online. The seller also assured me that all the guitar's parts were original. When I bought it, I was thinking of changing the tuners because they seemed cheap, but in the end, I kept them because they're holding up well. The humbucker pickups have a very powerful yet extremely clear output. The gold color is much more intense than that of Gibsons or Epiphones. There's a scratch on the guitar's body, but it's barely visible due to the quality of the finish. There's also a belt scratch on the back and a few minor dents here and there. I bought it in Japan, and of course, I was taxed when going through customs (VAT plus another customs duty). This model is very hard to find in Europe. Here's your chance. For KISS fans: This Ibanez Iceman was signed by Paul Stanley himself in New York in September 2000, backstage at the Hammerstein Ballroom! I have two photos with Paul showing him signing the guitar for me. I need to find the time to make a video about our meeting, but in short, Paul was very gracious! Guitar History: This is a 1980 Ibanez Iceman. I bought it used around 1985 from the first owner, who had dropped it. The neck has been repaired by a luthier. There are also quite a few belt marks on the back and three noticeable dings that reveal the wood beneath the finish (see photos). Sold in its original flight case, which has suffered from its first owner's use. All parts of the guitar are original. You are welcome to try it in Paris. Here's the ancestor of the Ibanez Iceman, made famous by Paul Stanley of KISS! Originally, Greco created this guitar around 1976 for the Japanese market, and its subsidiary Ibanez marketed it in Europe and the USA. This particular model is from 1978. Between the original and this one, Paul Stanley made some changes, and Greco revised its various models. The humbucker pickups give it a warmer, bluesier sound than the DiMarzio pickups. I've replaced the potentiometers (the black ones will be included) with a clear crystal model that blends in perfectly with all the chrome parts. One of the tuners is missing its small cap. There are a few small dings here and there (see photos). This Greco is a fine example of Japanese craftsmanship. The finish is superb, and the color is very rich. This 1980 Greco Eagle is a rare gem and a beautiful example of Japanese craftsmanship. The finish is simply stunning! The neck-through construction is a work of art. The guitar's body is thinner than a traditional electric, making it lighter. Despite this, the neck-through gives it incredible resonance. It's obviously a copy of the BC Rich Eagle, made famous by, among others, Neil Geraldo, guitarist for Pat Benatar and Paul Stanley of KISS during the "Lick It Up" era. You can find online the various settings which, with the DiMarzio-style humbucker pickups, offer an infinite range of tones. It's truly an incomparable studio tool; it's like having a Stratocaster and a Les Paul or SG in one guitar. All parts are original, including the superb Art Deco tuners.
