2006, grosse année Radiohead

Le groupe d'Oxford est enfermé en studio avec l'ingénieur du son Mike
"Spike" Tent (Björk, etc), qui remplace le fidèle producteur Nigel Godrich,
en place depuis presque dix ans.

Si on ne sait pas encore ce qui, de ces sessions d'enregistrement, finira
sur le prochain album de Radiohead et sur celui, solo mais entouré des
musiciens du groupe, de Thom Yorke, quelques certitudes commencent à
émerger. Déjà, il y aura bien un single de Radiohead cet été, suivi d'un
second à l'automne et d'un album du groupe début 2007.

Radiohead retrouvera la scène dès mai de cette année avec une tournée
"intimiste" destinée à tester en direct les nouvelles chansons. Radiohead
jouera ainsi en Europe du Nord, et dans trois villes anglaises,
dont Blackpool et Londres, puis regagnera les festivals d'été :­ le V Festival
anglais, qui se tiendra les 19 et 20 août, a vendu toutes ses places en
quelques heures après l'annonce de la venue du groupe. Enfin, il se produira
sur scène en France lors d'une date unique, dans le cadre de Rock en Seine,
fin août.

Pour info, apparemment le groupe ne se sépare pas de Nigel par mécontentement ou quoi que ce soit... c'est au contraire devenu un très bon ami du groupe. On m'a dit qu'en fait ils se connaissaient tellement que Radiohead voulait prendre le risque d'avoir un album au son nouveau (toujours dans leur optique de ne jamais faire pareil) car Nigel connait trop bien le groupe et n'aurait peut être pas le recul nécessaire :) ! C'est bien je trouve :) !

L'album sort en 2007, mais si ca se passe comme la derniere fois, il sera 6 mois avant sur les p2p :mrg:

Tu connais le thread "Radiohead, un autre univers" ? ;)
Sinon, oui, pour l'instant, faire "full-blown album release" ne les intérrsse pas, ils préfèreraient sortir au coup par coup des choses qui leur plaisent quand ça leur plaît, donc ça va blinder de singles avant un éventuel album et au final $$$£££€€€, j'ai l'impression :|
même si on sera comme des fouus :humm:

Citation : Thom Yorke Solo Album Revealed!

Amy Phillips reports: Last night, Thom Yorke sent out the following message to Radiohead's W.A.S.T.E. fan club:

this is just a note to say that something has been kicking around in the background that i have not told you about.
its called The Eraser.
nigel produced & arranged it .
i wrote and played it.
the elements have been kicking round now for a few years and needed to be finished & i have been itching to do something like this for ages.
it was fun and quick to do.
inevitably it is more beats & electronics.
but its songs.
stanley did the cover.
yes its a record!
no its not a radiohead record.
as you know the band are now touring and writing new stuff and getting to a good space so i want no crap about me being a traitor or whatever splitting up blah blah...
this was all done with their blessing. and i don't wanna hear that word solo. doesnt sound right.

i think its out in july and im pretty certain XL are going to put it out.

So there you have it: Thom Yorke's un-solo album, The Eraser, is due out July 11 on XL Recordings. (Pretty cool that Thom Yorke decided to put his album out on an indie label, huh?) It was produced by Radiohead bosom buddy Nigel Godrich, and features the following songs (yes, they're all supposed to be lower case):

01 the eraser
02 analyse
03 the clock
04 black swan
05 skip divided
06 atoms for peace
07 and it rained all night
08 harrowdown hill
09 cymbal rush

Various sources, including Billboard.com, report that the track "black swan" will play over the closing credits of Richard Linklater's new movie A Scanner Darkly. You know, the one with the animated images of Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder playing characters in a Philip K. Dick novel.

As you probably already know (because we keep breathlessly telling you), Radiohead are on tour right now. The band canceled a show at Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall this past Wednesday, due to the death of drummer Phil Selway's mother. The concert has been rescheduled for August 28.

The press release for Yorke's album states, "At the end of the tour Radiohead will resume work on their new album, due for release next year."
